A Challenge to All Writers On Our Illumination Slack Channel
Join the Conversation

Have you ever been interviewed? I have, and the experience surprised me.
My son once interviewed me for his newsletter at school and he asked some very interesting questions. They weren’t what I expected and I suspect my answers revealed some curious clues about the person his mother really was.
Marcel Proust was a famous French essayist and novelist. He frequently played a parlor game that asked a set list of questions intended to reveal someone's true nature. It’s said that his friend Antoinette introduced him to these questions when he was a young teen.
It became a popular diversion and is known as the Proust Questionnaire to this day.
I invite you to participate in a new Slack Challenge by answering a selection of these questions in an article of your creation on Illumination. Keep your answers short and don’t overthink.

I’d like to invite all members of Illumination-Slack to answer a shortened version of the Proust Questionnaire.
Create an article with your answers and submit them to Illumination. This is a great way to make connections with other writers and readers here.
There are other benefits to performing this challenge.
- You may find you have content that will support you in creating your writer biography, which is a great success tool.
- Your answers may serve as an inspiration for poetry or short stories.
- I have created a special channel on Slack where you are invited to share these responses. #editor-challenges-and-writer-responses
- I will create a collection of your responses which will provide you with additional opportunities for exposure to new readers.
