A cat’s purpose

Lifestyle

When our intention and our reality are not in alignment, the brain interprets this as a signal that action is needed.-

Simona

This is my cat spaz. He is left in Connecticut caring for my mother in my absence. Somedays, it is hard to swallow leaving his cuteness. Especially, for a love that I am often sure is doing me wrong. His day consists mainly of eating, playing, napping, and watching the birds from inside. He’s an indoor cat.

But most of all, he doesn’t think about his purpose in life. He just lives based on his natural circumstances. A gifted creature who finds delight in being exactly what he is. Smart, instinctual, and a kind sweetheart animal. After being with my cat for over twelve years, I learned a bit about the power of being present and the pain of absence. Even though I had been away from my cat for over a year..he still meowed and got excited when I came home. But he was furious with me. Oh…I don’t blame him a bit. I would be mad too if my human left me for another human.

My cat made me wonder how humans get so wrapped up in chasing everything that our mind triggers us to. Sadness, passion, pleasure, desire, and any other emotion leads us to make decisions in our life which leads to an indirect creation of our life purpose.

Dreaming of purpose

A purpose is like a car drive. When we get in a car, we have a destination to get to. A reason for being in that car at that particular moment. Sometimes we lack a reason to drive but want to leave the house and end up going a long thoughtful drive because we can.

A human purpose is similar to such a drive. Without purpose, a person spends their life driving on autopilot unsure of where, when, and who to stop for. I think we all need a destination for our life. A reason for us to be alive. Without purpose we are nothing. Our problem is the search for this purpose. We don’t always know what our purpose is in life. We only know that we need to have one.

A lot of our time is spent trying to configure what a purposeful life would mean for an individual. By reflecting on our mistakes, and individual problems we will deem what we want and don’t want in our life. Are we drama prone? Are we the jealous type? Do we need relationships? Are we destined to be mediocre?

There is an abundance of problems all over the globe about what, who, and how we can achieve our purpose. In the end, we can serve a purpose to the world around us as well as ourselves.

My own purpose

I don’t believe we can set a purpose in stone. Our purpose changes as we age, adapt and grow in the world. For me, my path has been a hella of a rollercoaster since I was four. When I was four, I was innocent. I mean in the type of learning about what types of toys, and outdoor activities I like way. Basically, between the age of four and nine, I was a bit like my cat but with college-level reading skills. (In other words, I wasn’t going to be social even at an early age. Especially with lazy eyes.)

The path I must take in my life is shaped by events and emotions that have happened to me. However, I did learn early that my basic enjoyment of reading leads to a love for writing. Writing is a form of creation. It makes me feel like the words I bleed on paper have meaning. Even if the meaning is only for my own heart, mind, and soul. I would have no solace otherwise.

Everyone wants to rule the world, but no one wants to spend time enjoying it. Time is an essential commodity for us because we run out of it so fast. It's not about how much time we have, but what we do in the present to create a stronger, healthier, and better future. Our future is based on our purpose and decisions in life.

Our cognitive brain is hard-coded for improvement. We don’t settle. There is no destination for quality and excellence. Quality is a journey.-

Gallant evil in the world

Evil is a word we use when a person selects a harmful purpose that goes against both the culture and moral values of a group. Evil is a choice, decision, and an unfiltered idea of what is wrong within a culture.

Evildoers are not following a purposeful life, some would say. But isn’t that just interpretation? The gallant liar, cheat, and fraud finds purpose in hurting and tricking people. They are the substance of evil that creates our villains, and the premise of hurt that majority of people feel.

However, they are human because a purpose is a purpose no matter the cause.

In the eyes of these types of people, they are right, and never wrong. Their purpose is in a self-righteous feeling or cause. Often people forget that such people were created by their own hurts, betrayals, and lusts. They are human, and I find when we look at things this way we can learn to forgive people rather than lash out in anger.

It also means we don’t have to talk to these types of people either.

As Tony Robbins said: we all aspire to grow because once we stop growing, we start dying”.-

The shape of A heart

A purpose is a significant way to tell who and what shape of the heart a person will have. It is how we can ascertain the difference between who will be a fitting partner to us, or who will remain our friend after all the bad stuff happens to us.

Our hearts have the power to lead us astray. More than often our heart and mind never coincide in life. Due to such functions, our mind can have a set purpose for us but our heart may bear another direction making it hard to stick to a set path for us.

For me, words are all I have and I want to spread them. I’ve never been good at math, sports, or any other activity. But reading and writing have taken ahold of my soul and shaped my heart into a beating story. There are a few ways to do this. I can spread words through writing, teaching, and advising others. This is my purpose. I don’t know why…but I know that in my heart it is true. By sifting through books, reading articles, and questions on Quora, I am learning how to be a better person, and motivate myself forward to propel into a healthier lifestyle including eating better. There are ways for me to achieve this and ways to avoid falling back into the same old patterns. Drive, motivation, and self-thought are all needed in order to take this route.
