A Sea of Tulips in the Trailer Park

When spring is decorating your neighborhood

A few days ago another resident of the trailer park was telling me to watch out where I step on the lawn (in front of our trailer) because someone had planted here lots of tulips (years ago already).

Well, that information reached me too late because we had stepped on all the tulip leaves before they had a chance to unfold. But I got to witness the beauty of these hidden tulip bulbs in another area of the trailer park.

There is a large Japanese Cherry Tree standing out on the campsite and I could see the bright shining pink blossoms when I decided to take my camera for a walk through the park.

But it wasn’t the cherry blossoms I first captured with my lens.

Tulips.

Lots of tulips.

Everywhere.

Tulips were blooming everywhere. In small garden patches. In between trailers. In the grass. All across.

Some were fading. Some were blooming in their brightest stage.

Either way, I still wanted to capture the mentioned cherry tree. So I kept on walking towards it. But another patch of tulips in my favorite color forced me to do another photo break.

Just look at these bright shining beauties.

Aren’t they gorgeous?

I decided to go on my knees and see what the trailer park looks like from a lower level.

This is what I am looking for every day. The small things in life that make me smile. I don’t search for the big moment of gratification. I’m thankful for the small joys in my daily life.

Those small joys, added together, they create the big ones.

Happiness.

“The thing about happiness is I think sometimes we’re waiting for the big stuff to be happy. But happiness isn’t always the big things. Happiness is actually the little things, the little moments that make up our day.” — Sheryl Sandberg
