Valentine’s Day Stories: Love is In the Air But Do YOU Really Care?
Enjoy what these writers shared about romantic relationships!?

In one way or another, when February rolls around, many people start to get love on the brain.
That’s the main reason why searching and updating your romance stories about Valentine’s Day is a good idea for a writer.
That’s what I did with this one.
By February 14th, true romantics have nothing but love and romance on their minds, and 2024 will be no different.
But simply having romance on the mind doesn’t necessarily mean it’s attributed to Valentine’s Day; it may simply be related to early signs of what is often referred to as Spring fever.
But then, there are the people who have romantic relationships on their minds, because they’re contemplating getting the hell out of one!
So you see love is in the air on a number of levels, but the real question is why?
Under the circumstances, that’s a good question, and that is exactly why you’ll be seeing all sorts of Valentine’s Day stories this year.
Whether writers pull out and dust off older stories, or they craft all new ones, writers on Medium have something worth reading on the topic of love, as we lead up to February 14th, and for the remaining month of February.
📌 In fact, from the 1st until the 14th, I’ll be helping to promote some of my friends of Medium and their VDay stories.
You can read all about it here, especially if you want to join in on the fun:
So dear readers, get ready, and prepare for some happy, more traditional romance stories, and some that aren’t all that rosy.
For instance:
- This story if for you, if you’ve been in a romantic relationship or love triangle for way too long and you’re ready to flee.
Ooop! Does that burst some of your romantic bubbles people?
Sorry, but the reality is, not every romantic relationship is a happy one.
But I choose not to hate on those of you who are blissfully in love and looking forward to this coming Valentine’s Day.
Since I don’t have a horse in this race in 2024 — I’m staying neutral, but I’ll be posting stories for and against all the romantic love in the air this year.
That includes these latest titles:
10 Best Valentine’s Day Gifts to SHOP for In Advance!
Pro or Con: Buying Intimate Wear for Valentine’s Day!
How to Improve Your Self Image After a Breakup.
As you might notice from the first two stories (published in 2024), my thoughts are on the theme of Valentine’s Day gifts, and the viewpoints surrounding giving them.
But there are lots of great stories to read regarding romantic love, or the loss of that love.
So whether you’re reading this before, during or after VDay has come and gone, you’ll find some great content from romantics and non-romantics alike.
Enjoy the following stories from writers on Medium.
Here’s what other writers had to say about romantic relationships
Writer Vicki Larson wrote a story that I absolutely LOVED. It’s called: It’s Never Too Late to Find Love. Among other things, she has some good news to share about love.
But in her story, Vicki also addresses a problem we see all too often in society, when she wrote:
“…society pushes romantic partnering on women in their 20s and 30s, it sends a totally different message to women at midlife and beyond: Sorry, gals. You’re too old to find love again, no one even sees you…”
One young Medium writer took a thought provoking approach to the word “romance” in her story titled: The ‘R’ in Romance.
After sharing with readers how Thoughtfulness and Effort are what makes a romantic person, K.D Stephanie had this to say:
“Understanding your partners love language and fluently speaking it helps the romance in your relationship.”
Good stuff right? But wait, there’s more…!

Final Thoughts
Once upon a time, people who didn’t have anyone to call their own — romantically speaking — were made to feel like outcasts on this particular holiday.
As you can see from the titles in the latter part of this story, that is no longer the case. There are thousands of like-minded individuals, no matter what your particular views about this holiday happen to be.
If you celebrate this day, and you have someone special, good for you. Enjoy!
If you hate Valentine’s Day, or you’re simply put off by it this year because you happen to be single, don’t fret. Lot of other people feel the same way as you.
So any way you slice it, you won’t be alone on Valentine’s Day. Now, it’s just a matter of deciding how exactly you plan to spend the day.
Whatever you decide, you can still have an awesome day!
