Kanye West's social media accounts have been suspended or restricted due to his racist and antisemitic tweets, sparking debates about the need for social media platforms to take stronger action against hate speech.
Abstract
Kanye West, also known as Ye, has been suspended or restricted from Instagram and Twitter due to his racist and antisemitic tweets. His recent tweet, which was removed, targeted Jewish people and was widely condemned as hate speech. Despite his history of mental health issues, including bipolar disorder, social media platforms have been criticized for not taking stronger action against West's hate speech. Some argue that his behavior is enabled by the platforms, which benefit from the views and engagement generated by his controversial posts. While some celebrities have spoken out against West's behavior, others, such as Elon Musk, have defended him. The situation has raised questions about the responsibility of social media platforms to moderate hate speech and the potential consequences of not doing so.

Enough, Kanye
Instagram Kicks Out Kanye West, Calls Mark Zuckerberg His ‘N**GA’
Elon Musk welcomes Ye with a big Bro hug on Twitter
Twitter
White lives matter. Kanye West didn’t only wear a shirt with those words, he is the poster boy of bigotry. He has not only become a danger to himself but to everyone he targets with his hate speech on social media.
Enough. Enough. Enough.
Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, suspended his account or restricted it.
His racist tweet has been removed and like his Instagram his Twitter account is suspended, restricted or locked.
These social media platforms use kid gloves in dealing with Kanye. Is it because he brings in the views, and his fans respond wherever he goes? But his recent tweet should be enough for every single social media platform to permanently ban him. — Yet, all they are doing is ‘lock’ Ye’s account.
He needs help.
When these social media platforms continue to host his views they are his enablers. Do we have to wait until something happens that will make us all sorry, that we didn’t do enough?
Ye is a threat

We all know Ye as he calls himself now, has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and needs help.
And when men of power like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg treat his behavior with kid’s gloves it doesn't help Kanye West. Or by giving him special treatment, like how the soon-to-be Twitter owner Elon Musk said so himself in a tweet.
He talked to him privately after Kanye West's antisemitic tweet.
Look at this Mark
How you gone kick me off Instagram
You used to be my N*gga
Elon Musk’s big bro hug tweet,
and when Ye’s tweeted his antisemitic rant, Elon Musk felt he had to talk to his ‘friend’ privately, like how these ‘bros’ take care of each other.
And the backlash continues, and Kanye West in a single tweet has inflamed America.
Discussions are great, but what Ye does is put a face to words that we all know are spoken by hate groups. When he wore his ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt, he was pandering to white supremacists.
And when he speaks that way about the Jews, it always brings back the memory of the Holocaust. Because we all know what happened there all it took was one crazy man and one crazy idea for others to follow.
Kanye West also attacks women. Kim Kardashian is a favorite target, and while Kim asks us to understand Kanye, maybe it is also time for Kim to say,
Enough!
Her sister Khloe seems to get it, she said — Enough!
He also attacked Lizzo, like she’s the favorite of men with nothing good to say about women, who feel they know better when it comes to what women need to do with their bodies.
Although it doesn't come as a surprise when Kanye is supported by the conservatives, like Candace Owens who also wore the ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt with Kanye,
Candace Owens on Kanye West’s antisemitic tweet: “If you are an honest person, you did not think this tweet was antisemitic,” adding “It’s like you cannot even say the word ‘Jewish’ without people getting upset”
Being honest or not has nothing to do with being racist. And while she said she didn’t understand at first what Kanye meant about his tweet, maybe someone who has more understanding of history can ‘educate’ her.
On Sunday, October 10, after his Instagram account was restricted for antisemitism, rapper Kanye West, now known as “Ye,” returned to Twitter from a hiatus that had lasted since the 2020 elections to tweet that he was “going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” This was an apparent reference to the U.S. military’s “DEFCON 3,” an increase in force readiness. — Substack
Many celebrities are not mincing words
“Weird how all these “free, independent thinkers” always land at the same old anti blackness and anti semitism.” — John Legend
We all need to get onto it. Those kind of threats and that kind of language need to be condemned by all sides and all faiths. We should never get over something like this. @JoyceWhiteVance#KanyeWest — Maria Shiver
Final words
Deplatform Kanye, I said this already and maybe the social media platforms should do it. Because should we all wait until something bad happens?
So, how can society help Kanye West? It can start with people who have the power to deplatform Ye.
But people make money from Kanye West — from his music to his fashion line and social media presence.
While I said, maybe Ye is crying for help, but maybe we should set aside our concern for one guy and instead think of the millions of people Kanye West threatens with his words.
Because while Kanye West believes White Lives Matter — It is time to remind him that words matter.
