While it is true that we all have very personal strategies. And that possibly some Medium users like to leave their personal stamp on their themes and their writing style.

Personally, I like to learn as much as possible when I start working on a project. Since I started using Medium I have tried to read as much of the platform as possible. And I have realized that it is a subject that I really like.

It is worth seeing some of the tips that I mention in this article and if you understand that it fits your plan, take it quickly and put it into practice.

1. Try using lists or bullets to help organize your text.

Why: A big draw of Medium is the clean but elegant design of the text and images. One of the features that help readers to focus on is the use of bullets or numbered lists.

These features help readers understand the order of ideas you present and make the reading experience more comfortable. The use of Medium as a means of communication is mostly from mobile phones, this format helps the reader to make the reading flow more pleasant.

Lists, for example, give the reader a sense of control over when that part is about to finish and also let them know when the reading is about to end. It also makes the article look more organized and professional.

2. As soon as you can write and publish daily.

Why: I’ve talked about this before and it’s nothing new. But in my opinion, it is a very important element to keep a good step in the development of your Medium profile.

Hard work and consistency works here. Without leaving aside the quality of what you write and that it complies with Medium’s guidelines. If you want your new and old articles to get views, you need to write and post daily.

While this happens, the statistics maintain an active trend in the number of views, readings, and new fans.

Why: There are times when you can create articles from 10 to 16 minutes of reading. But you can’t possibly sustain that amount of time on all articles. Everyone writes according to their inspiration, but that does not mean that you are careful how long or short you write your content.

If you want an idea of time, not less than 4 minutes nor more than 8 minutes. (Here I mean in general. Since if you want to do a complete guide and it lasts 16 minutes it is fine.) But my point here is to try to keep a reasonable average time.

Remember: Your income depends on reading time, and if the article is very short, the profit will be less. A 2-minute poem is not the same as a 6-minute story. You need three complete readings in a 2-minute poem to reach 6 minutes of content.

4. Choose 3–4 topics and write about those topics for a few months.

Why: The success of the average writer does not happen overnight. You must have a strategic and logical plan when choosing what topic to write about.

To be successful on Medium, you need to establish a voice that readers are familiar with. It is good that they are topics that you have mastery and that you feel comfortable writing about them.

Why: One of the best ways to promote old articles is to mention them in new articles. This can give a previous article a second life and can be useful to a reader who is interested in your topic. In the same way, if you are talking about marketing, mention articles more related to that topic, it can give you better results than mentioning a very different topic.

7. Keep track of your stats.

Why: You can find out what day/time your followers respond best to your content. Medium only has 50 curators, monitoring all global submissions to Medium. And also if you use a Publication you should know how many editors it has since this will vary the evaluation time of your article.

While Medium insists that the time of day you post doesn’t matter, this is obviously not true. Each group of readers will have certain periods of greater participation.

Keep track of when you post articles on a similar topic. You will be able to observe certain patterns that will give you an idea of when is the best time to post certain topics.
