7 Tiny Mindset Shifts You Need To Start A Side Hustle As A Creator
The key is to enjoy the journey you’re on.

Side-hustle is not a fancy term that is something new.
It has been here for years.
At this time when job security is null, and if you are living on one income source, it’s scary.
To be honest, I am scared as job norms are changing, people are getting paid off like nothing, and it can happen with anyone.
Trust me, I have relied on my job for too long, only to realize the high impermanence of it.
It doesn’t matter how talented or hardworking you are. Everyone and every role are becoming disposable.
I started writing online a year back as a fun hobby, and I need to monetize it.
I need to learn to think like an entrepreneur and treat it like a business.
You don’t need to be an expert to start creating, but to make money out of it, you need to learn the ways a business could work.
Below are the 7 tiny mindset shifts I learned after reading various books on how to build a new business:
1/ From consumer to creator:
Shift your mindset from being a passive consumer of content to an active creator of content.
Start thinking about what you can offer to the online community instead of what you can get from it.
2/ From perfection to progress:
Don’t let the pursuit of perfection hold you back from creating.
Instead, focus on making progress and improving your skills over time. Remember, every great creator started somewhere.
3/ From fear to curiosity:
Don’t let fear of failure or criticism stop you from creating.
Instead, approach your work with curiosity and a willingness to learn. Use every experience as an opportunity to grow and improve.
Just because something feels scary doesn’t mean it actually is dangerous.
4/ From competition to collaboration:
Instead of viewing other creators as competition, see them as potential collaborators.
There is strength in numbers, and working together can lead to greater success for all involved.
5/ From short-term to long-term:
Don’t get caught up in short-term gains or losses.
Instead, focus on building a sustainable online presence and cultivating relationships with your audience over the long-term.
6/ From fixed to growth mindset:
Adopt a growth mindset that allows you to embrace challenges and learn from failures.
Don’t let setbacks discourage you, but instead, use them as opportunities for growth and self-improvement.
7/ From passive to active:
Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you.
Take an active approach to creating and promoting your work.
Reach out to potential collaborators, engage with your audience, and actively seek out new opportunities to grow and expand your online presence.
And you’ll be glad you did.
Lastly,
The internet can be a scary place.
Putting yourself out there for everyone to see is daunting.
If you want to create something, to do something, you have to manage patience and pace.
Move fast but expect the results to come slowly.
Find your motivation and keep at it.
I am hopeful for the future, and you should be too.
Hope this encourages you to make that change.
