7 Sex Questions Women Want To Ask Men But Are Too Embarrassed To Do So

An educational and amusing dive down a Reddit rabbit hole

What's the best thing about the internet?

OK, apart from free porn. Take another guess.

For me, it is the ability to get information on every conceivable topic, from medical advice to DIY tips to history lessons to sex queries.

Sex — for many people, can be a difficult topic to broach. At schools, the quality of sex education varies, and even communicating with a partner is difficult for some.

And that's where the internet comes in.

I was interested in what sex questions people had, so I did a quick Google search. This soon led me down a Reddit rabbit hole — which sounds like a sex move — and an interesting forum topic. It was titled Women of Reddit: What NSFW questions do you have for men that you are too embarrassed to ask in person?

It proved a fascinating read, so I decided to take the top seven questions — based on comments and votes — and share them with you. I've included some answers provided in the chat, and so we aren't just relying on random people on the internet also included some evidence-backed expert information where possible.

Join me as we dive into the rabbit hole together…

1. What do you seek in foreplay?

This was by far the most popular question in the chat.

It could be based on a common misconception that men don't want foreplay — they want to get straight into the sex.

A Canadian study found that women wanted an average of 19 minutes in foreplay, while men said they wanted 18 minutes in foreplay. So both men and women do want foreplay — and pretty much the same amount of time.

So what do men want during their 18 minutes of foreplay?

“Legitimate interest on her part. Anything can happen and I’m fine with it as long as I know she’s doing it because she likes it. And also face sitting. Don’t feel self conscious about it either.” yourname92

Men are very visual creatures, and Carole Altman, Ph.D., author of You Can Be Your Own Sex Therapist, suggests a woman slowly removing their clothes is an incredible turn-on for men.

"When a man sees a sexy image, his testosterone levels rise, spiking his sex drive. The longer you let his eyes linger, the more aroused he'll be. When you finally remove that last item, he'll feel like he's seeing something taboo, which is a turn-on in itself."

Other experts advise touching the man all over the body — not just the penis. Kissing, licking, and feeling different body parts will help to get him in the mood.

Talking dirty is also very popular for many men.

2. Do your balls really move depending on the weather?

Testicles are funny creatures.

I don't think they are very attractive — but in my opinion, neither is the penis. But yes, the balls do move around.

“It’s temperature dependent and sometimes it can feel weird like if you go from warm house to cold outside or jump into a cold pool in the summer.” ChunksMcGoo

OK, Chunks hasn't explained it well, so let me give you a little anatomy lesson.

The testicles hang out in a sack — the scrotum — outside the body. This is because the body's core temperature is too warm for the poor little guys. They have two essential functions — first, they need to produce sperm, and second, they must manufacture testosterone. To achieve this, they need the perfect temperature, about 34 degrees Celcius/94 degrees F.

Within the testicles is the cremaster muscle, whose job is to ensure this temperature is maintained; thus, it will expand and contract to achieve this.

So when Chunks McGoo jumps into a cold lake or ventures into cold weather, his testicles will contract and move closer to his body to generate more heat.

3. How often are unwanted public boners an actual issue?

I'm sure a lot of men reading this will recall at least one embarrassing public boner. For me, it happened one day while riding the school bus, with the bouncing and vibrations of the vehicle leading to an unwanted erection.

According to Healthline, this occurrence is often called a random erection and "is considered a normal function and can be a sign of good health."

The average man has 11 erections each day and three to five erections during a full night's sleep, with many unrelated to sex. Many men wake up with "morning wood," which has a medical name — nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT), and is a type of random erection.

As a young teenager in school they were annoying, 99 percent of the time you arent even turned on, like a light breeze could go past the front of your pants and it was an instant boner, now as an adult you don’t get them very often and by now you know multiple ways of hiding them. In a weird way I almost miss getting random boners” HyperWolfe

Random erections can be caused by physical stimulation as described by Hyper Wolfe or hormonal shifts. However, they do decrease with age, so aside from some awkward bus rides as a teenager, they aren't usually an issue.

4. Does it feel good when a girl grinds? Bc it feels hella good for me, but I don't think it does much for guys, so I don't do it much, but I don't want to quit

The consensus on the Reddit forum was that while men prefer thrusting, they also enjoyed grinding as it generally lets them last longer while providing the woman with more pleasure.

“It doesn’t do much for me, but that’s a good thing. Moves that aren’t as stimulating for the man are our opportunity to back away from the edge so that we don’t end up finishing too early.” MrDownhillRacer

“As someone who finishes particularly faster than most. Grinding is amazing to me, because as you said it isn’t as stimulating but still keeps me up and helps me last longer. And it hot in the fact that it looks hot and ik shes enjoying it which automatically makes it sexy and worth doing.” SniperOwO

So please — keep on grindin'. Hmm, that would make a good bumper sticker.

5. Where do you put your balls when you ride a bike?

It seems that balls really fascinate women.

“I ride a bike daily at school and I’ve never once thought about that, lol. But for a more detailed answer, they don’t really “get in the way” ’cause our, uh, genitals are, like, more forward/higher up than womens’, so when we sit down our balls are, like, between our legs, and on a bike, or any seat for that matter, the actual part making contact with the seat is just your ass.” AdamBomb_RB

Adam sums it up fairly accurately above.

I also searched on a few cycling websites — unfortunately, viewing way too many images of MAMMILS (middle-aged men in lycra) while doing so. The primary advice cyclists gave was to choose the correct type of bike shorts and find the seat that fits best.

With the right combination of shorts and seat, the balls won't be a problem.

6. How do you all pee when you have a boner?

And now, back to boners.

“We become cirque de Soleil gymnasts for a brief minute” CakeAccomplice12

Most of the answers to this one were similar — it is very challenging. And there is a scientific reason for this.

"Achieving an erection is for the release of semen during orgasm. To prevent semen from entering into the bladder, the internal urethral sphincter contracts. This not only prevents semen from going into the bladder, but it also prevents urine from passing through the urethra during an erection and ejaculation," says David Samadi, urologic oncology expert.

If a man is determined to pee with an erection, there are a few ways to do this, including bending over to pee, sitting down, or gently massaging the bladder.

But it can be like trying to control a fire hose at full speed, so unless you want to get it all over the floor, wait for the erection to subside.

7. Are you looking at my butthole when you do it from behind?

In 2017 Chrissy Teigen revealed in an interview that she was telling friends the only part of her body that her partner John Legend had never seen was her butthole.

Teigen was shocked when Legend piped in that he had seen her butthole — every time he had doggy-style sex with her. So yes, men may get a glimpse of your butthole.

“Mostly small of the back and butt cheeks for me. Backs are sexy!” Rookie64v

However, men generally embrace the whole body, and the butthole is just one small part. They also love to look at your back and, when you turn around, your eyes.

Or, as one person put it, men focus on the whole, not the hole.

Speaking of holes, it’s now time for us to climb out of the Reddit rabbit hole…until next time.
