7 Real Reasons Top Writers [Read: Earners] Write the Same Thing Again and Again
Reason # 2 — They secretly know what we [REALLY] want to read

Top Writers are like digital parrots.
They squawk the same thing repeatedly, in slightly different ways, shining light on different perspectives.
- Money — The lack of, earn more, invest.
- Health — Eat less, exercise more, and bathe in cold water.
- Self-improvement — Get ya sh!t together, make time, hustle.
Here’s the million-dollar question.
Why?
1* It works for them
This is the simplest reason I can think of.
Why would the same online writer write about scandalous stories only? Or NoFap? Or building wealth online?
Because their stats page shined gold.
They look at their numbers going up and wonder… wow, I can do this. Then, they try to repeat their success.
“Oh, I get solid traction! Readers do come back! This is no fluke!”
And so, they double down while watching their earnings climb.
Don’t believe me?
Go study your favorite writer’s profile page. You will see what I see.
2* They secretly know what we [REALLY] want to read
I read CNBC financial news on my smartphone.
They have very clickbaity headlines. I know it. Yet, I still click on them.
Why did I fail to resist them? Easy.
Because [deep down] I want to read them to begin with!
Take, for instance, the following.
“5 Things to Take Note of Before the Market Opens Today”
I see this headline, and I think… did anything terrible happen today? Is the market going down? Should I do something?
That’s Monday.
And this is what I see on Wednesday.
“The Top 10 Things to Watch in the Stock Market Wednesday”
What did I do? I clicked.
These genres, articles, content types, and headlines repeat themselves daily, weekly, monthly, and into infinity. You can deconstruct their writing styles very quickly.
- They know they will catch you.
- You know you will read it.
And let’s be honest.
You don’t need to read 100 similar articles on wealth-building, do you? But you do.
And the Top Writers know it.
They know you are attracted to wealth, money, love, and self-improvement.
So, they write wealth, money, love, and self-improvement.
Don’t piss and diss the Top Writers for being boring.
We allowed them to.
Remember. Supply [writers] and demand [readers] make the market.
3* They are not thinking about you
Absolutely, freaking, not.
The Internet is the widest, deepest, most transparent infrastructure we have built in the history of Mankind. I think so.
Everyone can get online and be connected.
The Top Writers are after those 7 billion people they haven’t captured.
And so, they continue to write the same thing on a different note, showcasing their best pieces to readers stumbling onto their work.
Are you surprised?
I am not.
4* They learn from business leaders
Influencers, business leaders, and Top Writers preach the same darn thing again and again. Why? Simple.
They want you to remember what they say.
Take Ray Dalio.
If you follow him, you know he repeats the same [darn] thing each time he makes a stage presence.
- “I look at the financial world through the lens of a mechanic.”
- “There is a long-term debt cycle and a short-term debt cycle. We are now at the peak of the long-term debt cycle.”
- “We can do 3 things to improve our fiscal performance. Have income greater than debt. Have more assets than liabilities. Be more productive.”
Yes, I agree. Ray Dalio is getting [quite] boring these days.
But we cannot deny what he says is true. And Ray knows it.
So, he repeats it like clockwork.
5* Personal brand
Some folks I speak to genuinely believe in personal branding.
They want to be associated with identified topics. Sarina Chiu, for instance, writes plenty about her struggles and success with Esty.
Denis Gorbunov? Investing.
Matt | Financial Imagineer? A life of abundance and wealth.
These Top Writers aim to build psychological resonance with their readers via a defined portfolio of genres. It gives them something to associate their name with.
Read their online articles one after another. You can connect the dots.
“Wow. I should follow Denis for investing. Seems like he knows his sh!t.”
See? That’s personal branding at play.
I am not a big fan of PB, but I say this.
Somehow, it works.
6* They rewrite to write the same piece better
Do you want to improve your writing?
Avoid overthinking.
Write, rewrite, and reposition what you have written. That is the best way to squeeze the self-improvement orange.
Here’s how you can execute this strategy.
- Search for an online article you have written 2, 3 years ago.
- Re-read it. Do you feel embarrassed?
- No? Swipe left. Continue searching.
- Yes? Are your cheeks hot? Good.
Rewrite this piece again.
You can inject new life into older pieces because you have improved your writing with billions and millions of words behind you. Top Writers have thousands and thousands of pieces in their backlog. It’s easier for them.
Ever had that feeling that you read this before?
Yup.
Chances are, you have.
7* They are actively experimenting with headlines
Same story.
Different headlines.
What does that tell you?
The Top Dogs are practicing and sharpening their headlines to get more clicks, erm, readers.
They know one thing we also know.
Some words evoke more emotions than others. And we need to seek them out. And so, they experiment by writing and rewriting their headlines…
… while publishing the same story repeatedly.
The close
Bored?
Bored of reading the same thing from the same Top Writer again [and again and again]?
Yes, I get that. But understand one thing.
Like it or not, there are many reasons they do so.
I offer you 7 [real] reasons I can think of.
- It works for them.
- There is a [big] market for their work.
- They are not thinking about you per se.
- They are learning from business leaders.
- They are working to build a personal brand.
- They rewrite to write the same piece better.
- They are actively experimenting with headlines.
This is my take.
