7 Jewellery-Related Writing Prompts
Shiny things and magic rings!

Wowee… it’s been a while since I shared a set of writing prompts! It’s almost like I’ve been too busy doing the actual writing.
Well, onwards... here is a new set that all focus on jewellery (with plenty for the fantasy authors among us to get their teeth into, too).
Idea 1
Write a flash fiction piece where u wake up to find that you have been transformed into a tree. As you adjust to your new life, you notice that a golden ring is growing out of one of your branches. It becomes clear that this ring is the key to breaking the curse and turning you back into a human.
Idea 2
Write chapter 1 of a story where a time traveler visits you to give you a warning about a catastrophic event that is about to occur. They tell you that in order to prevent the disaster, you must find and destroy a powerful and ancient jewel.
Idea 3
Craft a piece of flash fiction in which a traveller stumbles upon a mysterious island in the middle of the ocean. Its inhabitants have a tradition that their leader must wear a certain necklace to hold on to power. Will the traveller get involved, and if so, what happens?
Idea 4
A powerful and ancient artifact is discovered. It’s a gem that will give the power to control the element of the earth, water, fire, and air. Write a drabble about the struggle for control over this object.
Idea 5
You wake up one day to find yourself trapped in a dream that you can’t escape from, where you are forced to confront your deepest fears and regrets. Someone is wearing a bracelet that will break the curse — but can you catch them?
Idea 6
You’re an astronaut and while on a mission, your spaceship accidentally enters a wormhole that takes you to an unknown galaxy. There, an everyday item of jewellery that you have is of massive power. Write what happens next.
Idea 7
Craft the tale of a detective trying to solve a murder case, who realizes that the evidence points to someone close to them. The suspects are a circle of wealthy jewellers, and the stolen valuable piece was a unique diamond ring.
I hope found some inspiration from these prompts. And if you use any of the ideas above, why not share a link to your writing in the comments?
