7 Activities To Help You Reinvent To Live Healthier And Happier (Fast)
Your future self will thank you
You are thinking that every year you are not able to achieve your potential or good things are not happening to you.
It’s easy to feel trapped in the abyss of busyness.
Busyness is an existential reassurance, a hedge against emptiness, and you are completely booked, in demand every hour of the day.
Being busy makes us feel good.
Even when we know we want to find more work-life balance, spend time on meaningful work, and disconnect at the end of the day, actually doing that is another story.
Life is about more than just being busy.
If you haven’t figured out how you can get out of the busyness trap, I got you covered.
1/ Strength Training 3x a week
In 2022, I started doing strength training to increase my body strength and endurance.
It took me a while to learn the form, and lift appropriate weights.
After a year, I feel much better, stronger, and happier in my body.
It also gets my mind away from a long day at work and get moving.
2/ Meditation for 5 minutes 2x a week
When you are stressed or anxious, meditation really can help.
I wish I can be regular in this practice. It’s been 6 months since I started incorporating meditation into my day.
I try to do at least 5 minutes of guided meditation practice 3x in a week. Something is better than nothing, right?
I use the headspace app for my meditation practice. It’s pretty cool actually.
You won’t start feeling better immediately, but if you do it regularly, you will notice the changes, like a calmer mind, better breathing, motivated.
3/ Journal my way out
I write in my little notebook whenever I am deeply stressed out, anxious, or at a cross path.
It helps me:
- To think clearly
- Recognize the self-destructive patterns
You can start online, or offline, whichever way you prefer.
It’s a good idea to check in with yourself from time to time.
Maybe start with a monthly retrospective and see how you feel.
4/ Limiting alcohol
I used to drink to get away from myself. In the last three years, I almost stopped drinking and limit myself to one wine glass every month.
I think everything done in moderation is good.
And if something is not making you feel good, it’s a good idea to stop.
If you’re drinking socially because everyone around you is drinking. Think again.
In actuality, no one gives a damn. So drink when you want or don’t. Your choice tbh.
5/ Good night sleep
Sleeping better can make or break your day.
If you feel cranky every morning, and perhaps your sleeping patterns are not good.
Try to get around 7–8 hours of sound sleep to feel energized in your body and mind.
Give complete rest to yourself so that it can help you become productive.
6/ Find hobbies that make your heart dance
If you are getting stuck in ruts and routine, it’s time to reassess your surroundings and what you are doing.
In this world everyone is running around, to get better bigger things.
Take a pause and reflect, and think what do you need?
Find things to do that make you feel alive.
The entire point is to be content and joyful in life, right?
Don’t trade your time with unnecessary things, living in sadness.
7/ Don’t let fear win you over
Most people spend time thinking about what people will say, what if they fail.
And never dare to try anything new or different.
That’s why most people are never able to find their passion, and purpose in life. So don’t be like most people.
Get to know yourself- your liking and disliking. What do you like doing, what makes you unique.
Self-aware is the tool you need.
I hope this helps you to add value in your life.
The purpose is to live healthier and happier, no matter what.
Be Bold
Be Courageous
Be Your Best
