Tragedy on Summoner’s Rift

Road to Diamond — episode 3.

Image created by the author using Canva and Riot Games assets. I will update the image every episode with the champions that gave me the most headaches during the session. Brand added.

“The truth lies in the darkness you see, as the balance is a fool’s master” — Zed, the Master of Shadows.

Another quote that fits perfectly for this episode.

The last gaming session was a tragedy! You never read something more intriguing than this before.

It is the third one. I can’t believe I made it this far. I am glad I took some reads on these episodes. It encourages me to keep on with them.

If you are a non-member, you can read the full version here!

At least I can see a good part in today’s episode.¹

I continued the agony from the second one. And this makes me sad.

The third gaming session from this journey I committed to has been a tragedy.

Summary of the games

There weren’t four games. There were only three games. But the first game needed two tries to start it.

The first try of the first game was a Remake.

Remake is a feature Riot Games implemented in the game because it allows you to end a game in the first minutes if someone is AFK without losing any LP.

But it has a downside.

If your game crashes and you can’t reconnect in time, the team will vote for the game to end in the first minutes. This way, you lose LP without being your fault.

This is what happened to me.

I started the series with 30 LPs and lost them instantly after the remake.

Trust me, it drives you crazy when this happens.

The official first game continued the tragedy.

It was one of those games you couldn’t do anything because your allies fed too much. And even if you are doing well, you can’t face the fed enemies. You only make the agony last longer.²

The worst part of this loss is that I got demoted a division.

All I remember is that I blamed Riot Games for allowing this to happen, haha!

I have nothing to comment on about the second game.

The faith turned around, and what happened for me in the first match, happened for the enemy team in this one.

It was an easy game. The entire team played well. And they surrendered at minute 20 of the game, which is pretty early.

The best part of the win is I was promoted back to Platinum 2.

When I started the third game, I had one LP. I needed the win so I could be at least at the same points as I finished the second session of the game.

But guess what?

I had a challenging game. I couldn’t carry, even though I haven’t died so many times (which is good). They were too fed.

And the champs I played against were those if they get fed, it’s hard to kill them.

Those familiar with the League of Legends game would say their team was too cancerous.

As you can see, I was the MVP of the game, with the best amount of gold, and died only five times. I repeat, this is good.

In conclusion, I lost the third game, too.

The session ended with 0 LP in Platinum 2. That’s it.

Sometimes you win more, and sometimes you lose more. It’s important what you do after.³

The play of the game

I didn’t have the opportunity for big plays in these games. But I got one that I like, in the second match.

It was a beautiful outplay in a 1v1 with Yone.

The YouTube algorithm is pretty weird these days. It pushes my videos two days later after I post them.

This happened with the play from the second episode (it got 2.8k views and brought me one subscriber).

This clip got me only 95 views. Ironically, it brought me one subscriber too, haha!

Future improvements

I have noticed that playing very early in the morning made me lose every first game. I plan to start my gaming session later on.

Another thing to improve is my composure. I got tilted and frustrated after the first game was remade. I should not let these kinds of events affect my concentration.

A big thing to note in League of Legends is to acknowledge that the past games don’t influence in any negative way the future ones.

Relevant aspects for real-life

  1. Every bad thing has a good part. You only have to see it, even if it can be difficult in those moments.
  2. There are things in life that you can’t do anything about. Just keep calm and don’t feel like you are guilty of something. See them this way. They are independent of your actions. Don’t let them affect you in any way.
  3. Sometimes you win more, and sometimes you lose more. It’s important what you do after.

End of Episode 3

Again, a bad day on the Summoner’s Rift. And I can’t do anything about it. As I said before, I will keep improving. This way, my gaming sessions would be better, and also my episodes.

I would like to hear an honest opinion of this kind of content. What do you think about it?

One from you, Aiden (Illumination Gaming), would be much appreciated!

Thank you for reading!
