60 days no alcohol — here’s what’s changed
Every aspect of my life is turning around

I’m not going to go deep in depth on every point in this particular piece since I plan to flesh some of them out later, but I thought it was worth marking these gains quickly before time passes them by.
My sleep continues to improve
Not having to wake up from my already crappy, alcohol-damaged repose six times a night to use the bathroom has changed everything — my energy level throughout the day is high and stable. This contributes to every point below.
My mood is way better
The anxiety pits I used to get in my stomach are gone, at least as they pertain to alcohol. I fell off the wagon on my caffeine quitting efforts, but I’ll be getting back on that horse shortly.
My fitness activities are consistent
Because I’m not tired and damaged, I’ve managed to avoid some of the minor injuries I used to run into as a 41-year-old. My mental clarity allowed me to rejig my workout routine too. I’m on a five-day-a-week gym schedule with no breaks.
My productivity is astounding
Without pissing away my nights half-conscious on the couch, I’ve pumped out close to 70 articles and started two YouTube channels in less than two months.
My finances have turned around
With the extra energy I have, I redoubled my side hustle efforts and managed to boost my after-tax income by 10 percent within a month. More on this soon. I’m also saving a ton of cash by not visiting the liquor store almost every day.
I know this has been a short piece, but as I wrote here, if you don’t record things, they’ll fly away like a feather in the wind.
I hope it inspires you to stay the course if you’re just beginning your own sobriety journey. A better life is closer than you think!
