My newsletter-growing goals

I’m 100% convinced Mini Newsletters are the perfect way to earn side income for busy people. (Thank you Jamie Northrup - Minimalist Hustler for introducing me to them!)

I am having fun with mine, but I’m only at the beginning. There’s more to do to grow it.

Here are the goals I’ll be focusing on this week:

  1. Get the premium version of ConvertKit. I’ve been using the free version as I figure things out. You can use it for free up to 1,000 subscribers.
  2. Create a welcome email. This can only be done with the premium version of ConvertKit.
  3. Sign up for Sparkloop. Again, you need the premium version of ConvertKit (or another email service provider) for this.
  4. Set up a lead magnet. I have a lead magnet ready to go. I need to finish getting it set up on my website.
  5. Create an image to use for promoting my newsletter on X. I really like Eve Arnold’s image, and I’m going to use it for inspiration. (This is the image people see on Twitter/X when they promote their newsletter under posts.)

6. Create an auto-newsletter message for some of my X posts. The Tweet/Post up there of Eve is one that shows up automatically after some of her posts. This is done with a service. The one I use is called BlackMagic. Now I just need to learn how to use it.

Starting a newsletter is extremely easy. You can even create your own template in ConvertKit in just 7 super simple steps and make it even easier!

But the fun doesn’t stop there.

Once you have a newsletter, you want to think about how to improve and grow it.

You can follow my steps here, or create your own newsletter to-do list. If you post about it, let me know! I could use more ideas.
