Life can be full of ups and downs, and sometimes, it’s the small choices and everyday habits that quietly can change your life for the better.

The lessons you learn in this life can be unpredictable but valuable for your personal growth. The potential for transformation comes from the simplest actions and decisions you make in your life.

If you pay attention to them and start applying these daily habits to your life, you’ll start to be in a better state mentally. You will start your path of personal growth. Your life starts to get better, not worse.

It’s just the small daily habits that will change your life for the better.

Go for a daily walk every day.

Taking a daily walk is a great habit that can have a profound impact on your physical and emotional well-being. It’s a simple thing to do, yet it allows you to connect with nature, clear your mind, and get some exercise — All at the same time.

Taking a walk can reduce your stress, boost your mood, and give you more energy. You just feel better when you come home from your daily walk.

Taking a daily walk can also give you new and better ideas for anything in your life. You think and feel better overall. To me, I always feel better when I come home from a nice walk. I go from feeling depressed to feeling happier.

You decide for yourself if you wanna do it daily or a few times per week, but I recommend daily. If you do one of those things, it’s still consistency.

Remember this:

  • Give yourself 30 minutes to 1 hour of a daily walk in the nature or local park.
  • As you’re enjoying the view of nature, put your phone down the whole time so you can enjoy the present moment that gives you peace.

Learn one new thing for 1 hour daily.

The thing is, you’re never too old or too young to learn anything new.

If you’re 30, you’ve 70 years left on this earth to learn something new.

And it doesn’t stop there, because learning is a lifelong journey, and dedicating just one hour a day to learn a new knowledge or skill can open doors you’ve never thought was possible.

Spending 1 hour being fully attentive to the skill you’re passionate about? That means you’re one step ahead already. It doesn’t matter if you’re bad at it in the beginning, the more you learn the skill, the easier it is for you to use that skill out in the real world.

Albert Einstein once said,

“Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.”

^ The talks about the process of learning, expanding one’s knowledge, and developing one’s intellect should start as early as possible in life and continue throughout one’s entire life until they pass away.

Whether it’s picking up a musical instrument, learning a new language, or learning to be a good public speaker, this habit can boost your confidence, and expand your horizons.

The more you do it, the easier it gets.

It gets harder before it gets easier.

Remember this:

  • It’s okay if you’re not ready to learn the skill you’ve dreamed of learning, just do it anyway.
  • When you’re learning a new skill, be patient, you have to do the skill slowly so you can understand it better before doing the performance.

Make your bed every morning.

I’m not trying to sound like your mom, but I do kinda sound like a mom right now.

But here’s the thing, making your bed every morning can set a positive tone for the day ahead. It’s the first task you do before you start your day.

It’s easy, simple, and productive.

Admiral William H. McRaven said in his speech:

“If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.”

I know the task is boring but this simple task reminds you to stay productive and disciplined in whatever you do in your daily life.

It teaches you to stay motivated and do the task anyway, even if you don’t want to do it. The simple task beats your procrastination.

Those little thoughts are powerful: “No I don’t want to make my bed, I will skip it over.” to “I don’t want to do this project, I will skip it over.” — And then you realize you’ve been procrastinating the whole day and you regret it.

Why? Because you’re feeding into your procrastinating thoughts.

Like I said, yes the task is boring, but it keeps you disciplined and productive anyway. You may hate it but do it anyway.

Remember this:

  • You only become more disciplined and productive. It makes you feel good about yourself for doing a little act of productivity.
  • This little method teaches you to not listen to your procrastinating thoughts and makes you realize why you shouldn’t always listen to your lazy thoughts.

Enough with sounding like a mom, let’s go to the next list :)

Do what you’re afraid to do.

Yes, you’re afraid to do it, that’s why you should do it anyway.

No, I’m not talking about being afraid to do dangerous stuff, because sometimes safety IS more important than stupid risks such as driving 120 mph per hour.

I’m talking about doing something you’re afraid to do such as learning that new language, traveling to the country you’ve always wanted to go to, and starting being a content creator or influencer (hey, nothing wrong with that)

It doesn’t matter if it looks cringe, it doesn’t matter if people find you cringe, do it anyway. I see some of the most successful content creators starting off with bad content from years ago

Bad video quality and talking from a 1 dollar microphone.

They did it anyway, and so can you. Because growth often lies outside of your comfort zone. The habit of facing your fears and stepping out of your comfort zone can be truly transformative.

I really love this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt who wisely said,

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.”

Remember This:

  • If you don’t do what you’re afraid to do, you will end up feeling the regret of not doing it earlier. It’s better to try and fail than never try and regret. The more you do what you’re afraid to do, the better you get at it. The easier it is to do what you’re afraid to do because it becomes natural to you.

Get a lot of sleep.

I’m tired of hearing this whole, “While everyone sleeps, I work.” type of unhealthy statement. I used to believe in this years ago, but the thing is, you can’t do a great performance for what you’re passionate about if you don’t get sleep.

Your health comes first, then pursuing your dreams.

But I can’t tell you what to do, it’s your life and you can work 5 days without any sleep if you want to, just be aware that it’s not a healthy habit and it’s better to get plenty of sleep and do a great performance.

When you get sleep, you get energy, and you can use that energy to do a better performance or complete the task more easily.

Your mind, soul, and body deserve a rest.

Getting sleep is self-care, it’s self-love.

It’s because you’re not being hard on yourself.

Like a smartphone, your body needs to be charged as well in order to function really well.

As Arianna Huffington, the co-founder of The Huffington Post, once said: “By helping us keep the world in perspective, sleep gives us a chance to refocus on the essence of who we are. And in that place of connection, it is easier for the fears and concerns of the world to drop away.”

Remember this:

  • Have a consistent sleep schedule, going to bed, and waking up at the same time each day.
  • If sleeping is hard for you, try to spend the whole day being physically active, such as walking, jogging, and spending a few hours outside. This helps me to come home sleeping pretty easily.
  • Create a relaxing bedtime routine to signal your body that it’s time to wind down.
  • Keep your sleep environment comfortable, dark, and cool.
  • Cut off-screen time before bed because it can disrupt your sleep schedule.

“Listen to understand, not to reply.”

Most of them listen just to reply to what the other person said.

That comes from the ego.

We don’t even take the time to think about what the other person is saying, why they’re saying it, and if they’re actually saying something true or not.

We agree with the person until the person talks about us. We’re quick to defend ourselves but slow to think about if we made a bad mistake.

You as everyone else, have flaws. It’s about admitting to them and correcting ourselves. Sometimes you’ve made a person frustrated, and it’s your job to listen to how the other person feels.

That’s the time to listen to understand.

It’s called being a good listener.

You want to maintain good and healthy relationships with people. You want good people around you but that means you also have to accept the fact that you have to embrace hard conversations and be a good listener when your loved ones want to rant out on how they feel (without being toxic.)

The main advice on this topic comes from this quote:

“Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”

This habit can lead to more meaningful connections and solving problems better. However, don’t accept being disrespected especially by toxic people who don’t know you. Because most of the time, they don’t know what they’re saying.

Remember this:

  • Practice listening by giving your full attention to the person talking.
  • Avoid saying something out of your ego because you don’t like what you’re hearing.
  • Avoid interrupting and allowing the other person to finish their thoughts before it’s your turn.
  • Ask questions for clarification if you don’t understand their perspective.
  • Be in their feelings and experiences, even if you don’t agree.

The Final Thoughts.

Life is a series of moments.

The habits you apply every day will shape the quality of your life.

You will grow and improve as a person.

You’re in a better place than where you used to be.

I know it’s six daily habits that may appear small, but the impact can be profound for your own well-being and personal growth.

Start with small habits and in five years you will see how much you’ve grown as a person. You’ll be surprised, honestly.

It’s not about perfection; it’s about progress.

Lao Tzu wisely once said,

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Embrace these habits, and let them change your life for the better.

One step at a time ❤
