“50 Things I Love!” You Wouldn’t Believe.

Looking inward is educating.

I stole my aunt’s money.

Many many years ago, as a very young teenager, to buy a video game.

Back in my days, before Playstation became a household name, game consoles like Ending Man, Terminator, Sega, and Gameboy, were a man’s best friend. If you had any of this, you’re the coolest kid on the block. And besides the prestige, it was damn fun to play.

I loved video games a lot.

And when my aunt found the video game, she went crazy. I knew she’ll kill me if she figure I used her money to buy a video game. But remember what they say, “you are innocent until proven guilty.” So I denied it as if my life depended on it.

“Where did you get this game?” She barked at me.

“It’s not mine! It's Osas’s.” I said, acting innocent.

Seconds later, she’s dragging my ass across the street to Osas’s house. “Damn! What do I do?”

“Osas, tell me the truth, where did George get that game?”

Now, if you listened closely, you could hear my heart slamming against my rib. What was he going to say? Can he read the signs from the look I’m giving him as my aunt tries to block his view from seeing me as her grip tightens on my hand expressing the beating to come if Osas eventually says No? Osas, please, If you ever have wisdom, this is when to use it.

“I gave it to him.” Osas finally said abruptly.

Oh, Jesus! Osas, my man!!!

“Are you sure? Because if I find out you're lying, I’ll come directly to your mom.” She threatens.

“Na me give am. I gave him to play last night.” He affirms.

My aunt turned to give me a death stare. Flung my hand away and barked, “Oya… as I’m seeing you, inside the house!”

I ran into the house praising God for my life. I want it known today, whoever, wherever and whenever this is read, Osas is a hero. He’s my hero.

There’s no denying that among many things growing up, I loved video games. But that was many years ago, as I grew older living and experiencing life, I’ve come to learn stuff about myself; things I like and those I don’t. And when I saw Priyanka Priyadarshini’s article, it made me reflect on those things that have impacted me, based on my love for them.

So below are 49 more of those things I love, besides video games. And while you breeze through, bear in mind that, nothing shapes our lives greater than the things we have an affectionate affinity towards.
