Writing Challenge

5 Twenty Word Stories Challenge

It got dark fast.

Mike Knittel passed on this little virus to me. He caught it from Grimsby Hackney, who got it from Sara Larca and Nikolaos Skordilis. The idea is to write 5 twenty word stories.

Here are mine:

  1. I haven’t been scared of monsters since I was a kid, not until I woke to my closet door opening.
  2. He always had excuses for never finishing projects, but for the first time ever, one was valid: he was dead.
  3. She cried as she pulled the tapeworm out, cursing Vicky Collins, who was too obsessed with her manicure to notice.
  4. The man watched her in awe as she dug an unmarked grave, topless, in the dark of the new moon.
  5. I would never have guessed how good it felt to torture someone, but hatred is the perfect harmony to screaming.

For this challenge, I hope to exponentially infect more people by contaminating story feeds and digitally coughing on:

Stephen Michael Adams: I really want to see what you come up with. Hilary Tan: Keep writing, and never let anyone take that away from you. Just A Man: Your balls have grown almost as big as your dreams. Keep it up! Edward L. Conley: You mentioned you want to go roaming on Medium. ;)

I would try to give it to Smillew Rahcuef, but when I read about his mistrust of people over 30 years old, I learned that he’s mostly immune to writing prompts.

Sorry, loves. At least it’s a quick-ish one to get over.
