To survive, I found Medium to write my inner soul stories

When I came to know about Medium, I thought of doing a little bit of research before starting. I go through many articles about Medium and some of the videos made by the writers of Medium.

There are many benefits of writing on Medium. However, it was hard to survive on Medium. You need to be active at all times on Medium to gain views and followers. If you are writing on Medium that you can relate that if you don’t write a day or a week, your stats are going low. You need to be consistent to be successful on Medium. Medium offers quality content to its reader therefore, you need to be professional on Medium. You can’t make money and claps Writing some shit. You have to provide valuable information to your readers.

On the opposite side, I was a beginner even I am still a beginner. However, I am trying hard to improve every day. Still, it’s a long to go ahead. When I was a beginner I don’t know how to write, how to design an article, and how not to make typos while writing. There are several things for which I am grateful in Medium. It helped me a lot to survive for a year on Medium.

As a beginner, I made $0.03 on the very first month of Medium. I was disappointed though I thought about quitting. I am glad that I didn’t quit Medium. If I quit earlier, I won’t be able to reach and enjoy this 1-year journey.

5 Things Helped Me To Survive On Medium

  1. Illumination Publication

First and foremost, I want to say thank you to Dr Mehmet Yildiz for creating such a valuable publication for every writer out there on Medium. When I was rejected from multiple publications, Illumination gave me a ray of hope. When they accepted me as a writer, I started writing more. In this one year of journey on Medium illumination plays such an important role.

No matter, if you are a beginner or Pro illumination is a worth writing publication for every writer out there. I am now a writer of The Ascent publication which is one of the most popular ones on Medium. However, I won’t feel satisfaction without submitting a story to illumination. No matter how many stories I submitted to a different publication, I always submit at least one story a day in Illumination.

I am contributing to Illumination every day and will be contributing in the future until I will writing in Medium.

2. Editors

Editors are important for every writer. We are just writing, where editors make it look good for readers. A writer should always seek out the best editor they can afford to work with since every piece of writing meant for publication will need to go through the editing process anyway.

I need to say thank you to Terry L. Cooper Dr. Preeti Singh Dr Mehmet Yildiz Liam Ireland and so many others.

I want to say thank you for your feedback and for making my content more effective.

Editors make writer’s work readable.

Editors are the people who helped me to improve every day.

3. Amazing responses of my readers

I know not every story written by me is going to perform well. There are days when I will write some shit and people will not like it. This is the process of becoming better every day because every idea is not good doesn’t mean they need to be published.

Some days, when I feel demotivated I go to my popular posts and read those wonderful responses from my readers. I know I have to write for my reader. I have to write to motivate them which eventually motivates me to write.

Therefore, it’s my humble request to every reader out there if you like the writer’s work and you inspire by it. Please consider responding to their stories.

As a reader, please respond to your favorite writers. Your words might stop them from quitting their writing.

4. Followers

Whenever I feel like not writing, I think of my followers. Write for your reader who believes in you. Write for your followers who are waiting to read your upcoming article.

I write for them to make them believe in their selves.

Followers are world for their writers.

-Sahil Patel

I believe in myself to serve my followers. I just want to thank every follower who believes in me and my abilities.

5. Reason why I started writing

I know writers are human. They can’t stay motivated all the time. They need the motivation to keep going on.

When I did not feel like writing, I always try to remember the reason I started writing. Words have the power to heal. When I remember the reason, I feel inspired too.

I write to inspire people. I write to make people believe in their selves. I write to tell the true stories. I write to heal my soul. I write to find my lost soul in writing.

These are the 5 things that helped me a lot in this 1 year of journey on Medium. Medium is not the tough one, however, you need the motivation to keep going on. You have to be inspired every day to inspired others. I write for beginners who just started their writing journey on Medium to keep going on.
