If you’re a creative entrepreneur looking to build your online business fast, you are going to need this advise for this next lap around the ring.

I’ve been working online for more years than I can count and looking back at all the hurdles I’ve crossed there are 5 key concepts that have attributed to my success.

1. TRUST:

Building trust between you and your clients is esenntial. From the minute you announce your opening your doors for business, you need to be truthful.

People can tell when you are not. Tell the truth from the start on all things, including when posting to social media. Honesty is what people appreciate most.

When you tell your story with authenticity, it makes you memorable and establishes trust.

Trust is a very important bond you can establish and build on as you start promoting your business. Every client I have trusts me completely and I cherish that relationship. I’ve worked hard to earn it, so can you.

Even if you make a mistake, admitting you made one, tells the other person you’ll learn from it and won’t do it again. It’s just honest and showing that vulnerability demonstrates that you have no secrets behind the door.

There’s nothing better than knowing the person your doing business with has got your back and will tell you the hard truth no matter what. That’s priceless.

2. INSTINCT:

Your first thought is often completely right. Sure you will second guess yourself often while you’re figuring things out, but ultimately it comes back to that initial feeling.

The best way to double check your ego at the door and make sure you’re listening to your own natural ability to guide yourself is to ask two questions.

A. Am I doing this because I want something from it?

B. Am I doing this because of vanity?

Both of these things mean that ego is driving the bus.

Over the years, I’ve learned to filter alot of that vanity out of my master plan. A great rule to live by is… how will this SERVE others? You really can’t go wrong if you start there.

3.PASSION:

Building and running your own business is exhausting. Actually working for someone else is just as exhausting so if you have skills that you want to turn into a career, think about how those skills can be freelanced?

This road is going to be a long and tiring one anyway but PASSION makes those long days so much sweeter.

Passion can help you get through tough days. It also drives you to put in the kind of hours you need to dedicate to any hustle. Plus working at something you are passionate about equals job satisfaction. It doesn’t feel like a job when you love it.

Find out what you love to do and look for a way to make that your career.

Example: I love music, working around creative people and communications. Thus I developed a career in music journalism, publicity and social networking.

Result: I can’t wait to get to work each day and even when my job is tough I’m still smiling through it cause I chose this life. Knowing it was my choice makes me feel grateful every hour that I put into it.

4. COURAGE:

Building a business is for the brave of heart and the fearless. If you don’t have that kind of courage then you may want to rethink it.

Most days while you’re getting started, you’re going to have to ask yourself to jump off cliffs.

Actually I’m still jumping off cliffs every-time I get a new idea that will push my career to that next level of awesomeness.

In order to make a real difference, you’ve got to be brave and have the kind of courage to risk it all.

If you let fear stunt your development, you will set yourself back by year.

Unless you can show courage in life, you may never know what you’re really capable of.

5. FAITH:

If you have faith in yourself and you stay true to what you believe in, you can’t go wrong. Sometimes you’ll win and many times you will lose but if you believe in yourself, you will have what it takes to go the course.

Have you ever heard the saying…Trust in the process?

It’s really important because many times you will jump off a cliff and as your falling wonder if you made a huge mistake before you get a chance to spread your wings.

If you have faith in the process and trust yourself, you’ll be able to stick with your decision to see it through. That’s when your wings spread and you end up having the best ride of your life.

Faith in yourself is what fuels an amazing journey. But without faith, you’ve lost the battle before it started.
