5 Simple Habits That Can Change Your Life For The Better
Avoid your phone in the morning.

“One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.” ~ William Feather.
Life becomes more interesting and exciting when you have the energy.
When you’re in a negative environment you will live with stress, anxiety, and depression. When you live in a healthy environment, you will live with peace, harmony, and happiness.
It’s important to be aware of your surroundings and it’s more important to have a routine from when you wake up to before you go to bed. We all have routines that can help improve and change our lives for the better.
These habits will help you to make your life better.
Organize Your Room.
Sometimes it’s important to declutter your room so there will be space for new things to add to your room. There are benefits to organizing your room as well. You find lost items, you become productive, and you exercise physically.
Organize one section in your room at a time. You can start by organizing your bookshelf today and then your closet the next day. As you organize one spot per day, you will see instant improvement overall after a week.
When I organize my room, I start to get new ideas for how to organize my room even better. I am able to focus and concentrate better. I become more productive and my mind feels clear when I see my surrounding is clean. You probably feel the same way as well.
This was mentioned on PsychologyToday.com: “A study led by associate professor NiCole R. Keith, Ph.D., research scientist, and professor at Indiana University, found that people with clean houses are healthier than people with messy houses.”
A clear room will give you a clear mind.
How to apply:
- Try organizing your bookshelf today and organizing your closet the next day. Continue with organizing one section in your room per day. You will feel the sense of being productive and accomplishing something good each day.
Affirmation:
- “Having space in my room allows me to think clearly.”
“”If you want to organize your psyche, you could start by organizing your room.” ~ Jordan Peterson.
Cut All The Unnecessary Stuff.
This means you have to cut off the news and social media more than before. Especially the things you see on TV. It’s filled with “Look at how miserable everything is.” and it’s not really true at all. It brings a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety that is not needed in the first place.
Cutting off the unnecessary stuff also means you have to cut people off who don’t acknowledge you and avoid buying things you don’t need at all.
When I go out in the real world, it’s as if life is free of problems because people are enjoying themselves and having fun. I’ll tell you that I feel much better after removing the things I don’t need.
How to apply:
- Avoid buying unnecessary materialism. Remove people in your life who bring you nothing but misery. Stop investing your precious time in watching television.
Affirmation:
- “I live my life in peace without disturbance.”
“You’re not falling apart, the unnecessary crap is just falling away.” ~ Markus Rothkranz.
Avoid Your Phone In The Morning.
If you have to look at your phone because it’s work-related, then try to do it after you have done your important routines such as getting breakfast.
The first thing people automatically do in the morning is to look at their phones. You have been taught to prioritize your phone before saying good morning to your loved ones and eating breakfast together. Smartphones will exist forever but your loved ones won’t.
We used to be good at this before smartphones came and we can still do it again if we challenge ourselves a little bit by avoiding our phones the first thing in the morning.
You just have to believe you can do it.
How to apply:
- It’s simple. Don’t look at your phone as the first thing. Instead, get up, wash your face, and make breakfast as you listen to your favorite song and say good morning to your loved ones, even if it’s just your pet.
Affirmation:
- “I appreciate waking up to the people I love the most.”
“I finally realized that people are prisoners of their phones. That’s why it’s called a cell phone.” ~ unknown.
Eat Plenty of Nutrition.
I would say it’s best to be on a vegan/vegetarian diet but I know it’s not for everyone and some people need meat in their system to function well.
I can’t tell you what meal is the right one for you, it’s for you to decide what you think is important to add to your body. I can say it’s important to consume all the minerals, vitamins, proteins, water, healthy fats, and more to function well physically, mentally, and emotionally.
When you eat plenty of nutrition, you have more energy, a clear mind, and you will be able to function well without complications. The most important investment is your own health. You only have one body, take care of it.
Without your health, you will not have the energy for anything.
How to apply:
- You can start by making a smoothie that is filled with all the nutrition you need. It’s all nutrition packed in one smoothie. Try some new recipes that have everything you need. Pinterest is a good place to find inspiration.
Affirmation:
- “I’m healthy mentally, physically, and emotionally.”
“Our food should be our medicine and our medicine should be our food. “ ~ Hippocrates.
Go Out For A Short Walk In Park.
The best time is to take a short walk in your local park during the day where the sun is visible. You will come home with a more refreshed mind and it improves your mood. You will feel happier and lighter most of the time.
This is called walking meditation as well. It means you mediate by enjoying the present moment as you practice outdoor activity. Getting some fresh air is super healthy for your overall mood and mental health. I recommend getting at least two hours of fresh air every week.
When you are more connected in nature, you become more connected with who you really are. You find out what’s important and unimportant in your life. You will be able to concentrate better, do better work, and feel mentally healthy.
I’ve found this on HuffPost mentioning this: “The study, published in the journal Scientific Reports in mid-June, says spending two hours in nature every week can likely significantly boost health.”
How to apply:
- Find your favorite local park and enjoy the walk for at least 30 minutes before heading home. Enjoy the sun and observe people having fun. Pay attention to the nature around you.
Affirmation:
- “I feel happier every time I move my body.”
“To enjoy the glow of good health, you must exercise.” ~ Gene Tunney.
The Final Insights:
You don’t have to apply all of these at once but what you can do is to apply the ones that work the best for you and apply the rest slowly, if you want. If it feels overwhelming, try to apply one step at a time.
Remember these steps.
1. Organize your room. 2. Cut off all the unnecessary stuff 3. Avoid your phone in the morning. 4. Eat plenty of nutrition. 5. Go out for a short walk in the park.
When you apply all of these habits, your life will change for the better.
This is because you have cut off everything that didn’t serve you any good, you do something good each day such as organizing your room, you get all the nutrition you need that helps you to function better, and you have decreased your smartphone consumption in the morning that reminds you how miserable everything is.
Life becomes enjoyable when you do the right thing.
