All I wanted to do is to share my message of hope and inspiration. I had no idea how to express myself online in a way the gurus tell you to.

I just wrote from my heart and shared whatever came out of me at the time.

This led me to attract over 111K+ Followers on LinkedIn without even focusing on that big number.

Many people make the mistake of chasing the numbers, and that’s okay; that’s what “looks good” from the outside spectator.

They’ll think you’ve got something they don’t.

But it’s far from the truth.

If you’re a new writer or feeling stuck for some reason in your growth to become a great writer, I thought you might benefit from knowing some of the downfalls all online creators/writers face at some point or another.

I hope this helps overcome some of your blocks writers! Enjoy!

Trolls:

Negative feedback, even haters, can show up in comments, and if you’re not ready for these, they have the power to ruin your day.

I’ve learnt to immediately block those comments and never think of them again.

It’s nothing against you.

They are people who don’t know what else to do with their lives than try to make others feel miserable.

Ignore the haters, keep believing in yourself, and keep going.

Good enough is good enough:

Not every single one of your creations will hit the jackpot.

Taking too much time to analyze, rewrite, edit, and so on will rob you of creating your masterpieces.

I’m not saying don’t check yourself and read over your craft a few times; just don’t spend days editing and rethinking if you should or should not hit the share to the public button.

You’ll be surprised!

The work you put in hours of may get little traction, and the work you simply write from your heart and just go with, somehow goes viral.

You are enough; your thoughts are enough, go ahead and keep sharing.

Small Steps Lead to Big Results:

You’ve probably heard this before: Writing is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

You get better each day you stretch your muscles that keep you writing more.

Your mind, your fingers, your body, and your soul.

Take care of yourself each day.

That’s your number one priority.

Because when you feel good, your readers feels good with you.

Your speed doesn’t matter; forward is forward.

There is no need to rush and chase after followers, readers, or subscribers.

When you’re focusing on chasing after something, you’re losing precious energy that you could be using toward creating your next article, poem, masterpiece.

Forget about chasing anything.

Step into your power, own your craft, and become your best self each day.

Small steps, not huge leaps, will lead you to success in not just your writing but in your life as well.

Don’t think, just do:

Some days your mind will challenge you and give you all kinds of reasons why you should not create today.

Why should you stop now and give up or simply do something else instead of going after your dream.

I’ve created a rule for myself after the famous line in Top Gun. Some of you may love that movie as well, where Tom Cruise says to every elite pilot:

“Don’t think, just do.”

Picking up this mindset will lead you to ignore the naysayers in your head and just keep going at your craft.

No matter what the outcome is, practice what makes good writers great!

In conclusion, you’re so much more capable than you think you are.

Forget about strategies, algorithms, lefts and rights, and ups and downs.

Simply BE YOU and create from your heart.

You’ll reap the benefits in no time.
