5 Realizations You Must Have to Accelerate Your Personal Growth
The Outcomes You Can Achieve Are Limited Only by Your Beliefs.

A major part of growth lies in your ability to continuously update your worldview and beliefs.
This is what Napoleon Hill was alluding to when he said, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
The outcomes you can achieve are limited only by your beliefs.
If you don’t think you’re worthy of something, you’re right.
In other words…
Growth is about realizing your worldview is flawed and adjusting it to improve your outcomes.
You’ve gotta get good at spotting the beliefs that don’t serve you!
The faster you realize and correct flaws in your thinking, the faster you’ll grow.
Here’s 5 realizations that will get you on the way…
1. You must convince yourself difficult tasks are easy
We’re wired to move toward things that make us feel good and avoid those that make us feel bad.
This is what’s known as the hedonic principle.
Your brain (and mine) doesn’t like doing hard things!
If you’re unclear why you’re doing something that requires brain power, you’re more likely to put it off because the uncertainty will make you feel uncomfortable.
The only way around this is to trick yourself into thinking it’s easy.
This is how ultra-achievers achieve so much.
Instead of approaching their challenges head-on, they define a clear objective and chunk the big task into smaller pieces.
For example, let’s say your goal is to make a million dollars online in 12 months…
This is a difficult and challenging objective.
An ultra-achiever would break it into smaller steps such as:
- Get attention
- Build a community
- Learn their common pain points
- Create a solution and sell it
- Offer incentives for sharing (i.e., referral bonus)
- etc
Each step of the way has specific actions associated with the objective…
For instance, If you wanna get attention, you must create content and engage with people who have attention already so you can tap into some of the eyes they have.
Convince yourself difficult tasks are easy if you wanna stand a chance at achieving what you want.
2. The more excuses you make, the more you’ll regret it in the future
What’s holding you back from living your dream life?
If you said anything other than “Me,” you’re lying.
Your beliefs and worldview stand between what you want and what you have.
Once you update them, you’ll naturally follow through with the necessary actions.
Instead, most people defend their false beliefs.
They make excuses!
Excuses are just fabricated lies we tell ourselves and try to convince others are true – they’re an easy road out of doing the work to become better.
Each lie causes further delays.
“I don’t have enough time” should be “I haven’t set my priorities straight.”
It’s only when you give power to the truth that discipline and action will be granted to help you move beyond where you currently are.
Start recognizing the lies you tell yourself and confront them.
3. You must put yourself first
Prioritize yourself, always!
Most people only take this stance when something bad happens, like a breakup with a long-term partner, but that’s not how it works.
Putting yourself first doesn’t mean being selfish or neglecting others…
It just means showing up for yourself.
Do the things you wanna do.
Go to places you wanna go.
Be honest, open, and emphatic when expressing your needs and boundaries.
You can only love others to the capacity you love yourself.
This was emphasized in a 2019 study…
Namely, researchers discovered student nurses sometimes neglect their own well-being while training to look after others, but it had a net negative impact on their effectiveness when providing care to patients.
Remember, the rule is “Treat others as you’d like to be treated.”
When you treat yourself like crap, you’ll do the same to others.
Put yourself first!
Be the one who treats you the best, and it will naturally flow to all other areas of your life.
4. Don’t run after money; Pursue knowledge, skills, and excellence
The scientist Daniel Gilbert was the first to propose the experience stretching hypothesis.
The hypothesis states a filled with worldly pleasures undermines the simple ones.
In other words, your past experiences can significantly alter your happiness levels.
Once you learn of the existence of something and experience pleasure from it, your definition of happiness changes from what it was in the past.
For example, if you’ve experienced luxury hotels and high-end restaurants, your experience of Travelodge and the pub may not be as joyful.
The point I’m making is this…
Chasing money leads to more stuff that doesn’t allow you to appreciate what you already have.
A better way to increase your net worth or income is to engage in something you’re passionate about.
The more you practice, the better you’ll get.
As you become better, your value increases.
All you gotta do is find someone who will exchange your acquired value for tangible value.
Pursue knowledge, skills, and excellence!
Money will come as a byproduct.
5. You’re a product of what you do most often
If you’re not deliberate about what you’re doing daily, your future is left to chance.
Tony Robbins once said, “You become what you do most of the time.”
In other words, you can become anything you want if you’re willing to invest most of your time doing it deliberately.
For example, if you wanna be a writer, you must write often.
If you wanna be an athlete, you must play the sport you’re interested in often.
If you want wanna get smarter, you’ve gotta learn new things often.
Whatever you do often will form the basis of who you are.
Set your sights on what you want and go after it relentlessly by taking regular action.
Final thoughts
Growth is about updating how you view yourself and the world alike.
