4 Ways to Become a Game-Changer In Your Career

How to alter your outcomes by changing your approach and attitude to life.

One day gushes the news to the next, and one night informs another what needs to be known. — Psalm 19:2

To make progress in life, you'll have to live each day slightly different from how you did the day before. Life is not static. Things are always changing even when we choose to be unaware. So you have to be dynamic if you don't want to lose out on the major life opportunities.

We usually despise little things each time we make resolutions to do the bigger ones. But in the end, the little seemingly insignificant things are the ones that make the most difference.

When you refuse those little daily changes, your outcomes in life will remain the same.

So how can you start making some progress in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead?

Follow me as I show you:

1. Focus on the process:

If my football team is to play against yours, I may be leading at the first half of the game by 2 goals. But… we know that anything can happen.

Here is the catch: if you keep your team focused on the process, and not discouraged and use the feedback from the game to adjust the approach in the second half, with a little more effort, you stand the chance of winning my team.

It's called a comeback.

This is one of the few things that you can do differently this month.

What you should do instead: Keep your head down and focus on the process. Adhere to the principles that lead to your desire results. Put in more effort.

The result? Your effort will be met with good fortune.

Take advantage of your peculiar ability and don't be deterred by your inabilities.

Focus on your strengths, not your weakness Focus on your character, not your reputation. Focus on your blessings, not your misfortunes. Roy T. Bennett

Analyze your goals. Stop assuming. For example say you are to read 16 books this month, don't deceive yourself by believing it's just gonna happen by reading 6 hourly daily. It doesn't work that way. Rather you have to apply a method that is practically possible. Say 4 books per week and approximately 1 book per 2 days.

"...write your vision and make it plain..." Habakkuk 2:2

2. Assign Priority to Your Daily Activities:

Look carefully at the few listed activities below

  • to watch a champions league final match
  • Have a date with your spouse
  • Organize a board meeting with your boss ( assuming it's a part-time job)
  • Take a test in psychology

If all these activities are to happen the same day and at the same time. What will you handle them?

It narrows down to which one is more important to you. But you can be more diplomatic, and figure out the best approach.

  • Rule out the "urgent but not important" (football match)
  • Reschedule your date if possible
  • Amicably, make your boss understand why you can't meet up with the meeting. Finally, go take your test.

In all that you do, let first things come first.

Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least. — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

3. Apply the golden rule:

Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days. — Ecclesiastes 11:1

Whatever you sow or invest, the universe gives it back to you in multiple measures.

Sow a seed, and you reap a full plant.

Whatever you wish to have, make it happen for others. Be the reason why someone smile this month.

You cannot change the world alone but you can contribute to the process that ultimately change the world

There is one who scatters, yet increases more, And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. — Proverbs 11:24

4. Just do it:

One plane crash doesn’t cause the closure of aviation companies. Never! I’m aware of the possibilities of failing when you take the big step. Anyways no one truly succeeds without taking the big risk.

Experiment with your approach this month. Don’t let emotions hold you back. Just do it anyways. When fear knocks, open the door with courage and you will be surprised that there’s nobody there.

Don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Make this month, milestone to a great U-turn in your business, relationships, family, health, and career.

Bottom line

Information is not enough, until you apply what you learn, you may never experience any change.

So resolve to apply what you have learnt from this story and the benefits will show in all areas of your life.
