Summary

The article discusses the potential for men to experience unsatisfactory and physically harmful sexual encounters, particularly focusing on the risk of penile fracture during certain sexual positions.

Abstract

The article "4 Ways Sex Can Turn Horrible For Guys" delves into the less commonly discussed topic of bad sexual experiences from a male perspective, emphasizing that unsatisfactory sex is not exclusive to women. It highlights the dangers of penile fracture, a condition that can occur when an erect penis is subjected to forced bending or excessive pressure, often during vigorous sexual activity. The article details specific sex positions that are associated with a higher risk of penile fracture, such as "woman on top," "standing missionary," "doggy position," and "reverse cowgirl." It underscores the importance of caution and proper technique during sex to prevent injury, noting that penile fracture can lead to permanent erectile dysfunction, scarring, and a curved penis. The author also touches on societal perceptions of male and female sexuality, the complexity of female sexual desire, and the potential emotional and psychological impacts of bad sex on both genders.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that while men are often perceived to have straightforward and satisfying sexual experiences, they are also susceptible to bad sex, which can be physically and emotionally damaging.
  • There is an opinion that society's view on female sexuality and pleasure makes it difficult for women to discuss and enjoy sex, often leading to unsatisfactory experiences.
  • The article conveys that women are conditioned to view sex differently than men, with emotional connection playing a significant role in their sexual satisfaction.
  • It is implied that the stereotype of men being primarily concerned with sexual release does not account for the potential risks and complexities of their sexual experiences.
  • The author expresses concern over the lack of awareness about penile fracture and its serious implications for men's sexual health, advocating for prompt medical attention in the event of such an injury.
  • The article suggests that certain sex positions are riskier than others and that both partners should be mindful and communicative to minimize the risk of injury during sex.

4 Ways Sex Can Turn Horrible For Guys

I have heard a lot of women discuss bad sex in their relationships. But rarely do I hear guys complain over bad sex. This made me wonder, is bad sex a thing for guys?

I don’t mean non-consensual sex, which is rape. By bad sex, I mean consensual sex that is unsatisfactory.

For women, bad sex is often not reaching orgasm or she just wasn’t in the mood for sex. If a woman has sex out of obligation (which most women do) the sex can be boring and unproductive.

Lack of desire is probably the most complex sexual problem women face. A strict religious upbringing, pregnancy scare, and negative messages about sex build a bubble in a woman’s head and this affects her sexual desires and performance.

Women are conditioned to be ashamed of their sexuality so we say yes to sex we don’t want to most times. We enjoy sex when there is an emotional connection with the person we have sex with.

Too many times, bad sex is the norm for young women. Owing to the fact that society makes discussing pleasure, desire, and consent impossible.

Women who experience bad sex end up feeling violated, sick and confused. There is no one to blame and you can’t claim you were forced to have sex.

Men, on the other hand, have had it easier than women when it comes to sex and pleasure. A guy can easily bang three women at a time and still orgasm each time without emotional attachment or criticism from society.

We see the popular stereotype that all that matters to a man is sex in the relationship and men don’t dispute this claim because they lose interest in their partner when the sex dries up.

So how does bad sex happen for men?

So many women just lie back and think of something else to get through the moment. It’s almost as if they are telling the guy to get in there and get off and then they start feeling like crap afterward.

After having a heart-to-heart conversation with some of my guy friends, I’ve come to realize that guys do have bad sex too.

But what’s surprised me is that bad sex can be more dangerous for guys than you would think and here is how.

Penile fracture and why it happens

Most people aren’t aware the penis can break because it has no bones, only nerves, and tissues.

However, studies have proven that penile fracture popularly known as broken penis syndrome can occur when an erected penis gets a tear as a result of forced bending or riding too hard.

Normally, men in their 20s and 30s, who tend to be engaged in more vigorous sexual activity face the highest risk of penile fracture, while those in their 40s and 50s are at a lower risk.

Penile fracture can cause permanent erectile dysfunction, a scarred and narrowed urethra, or a much more curved penis than before.

Usually, you will hear a pop sound when the penis is broken. If your man has severe pain (in the penis), bruises, swelling, loss of erection, and difficulty in urination, he should see his physician immediately.

Fixing a penile fracture requires surgical procedure so don’t ignore the pop sounds in the middle of sex and expect the tear to heal on its own.

Examples of sex positions that cause penile fracture

Although there are no bones in the penis, a broken penis or penile fracture can turn good sex to bad when the protective layer around the erectile tissue, which pumps blood to the penis, is damaged due to an ‘abnormal bending’.

Unfortunately, some sex positions pose a higher risk of breaking your penis, so keep that in mind when you’re experimenting with different sexual fantasies.

Woman on top

Out of 42 penile fracture cases examined in 2014, more than half were caused by vaginal penetration.

As such, the ‘woman on top’ makes the top list of one of the most dangerous sex positions that break your penis.

In the process of pushing up and down, if the woman riding you isn’t careful to slide your dick back inside when it comes out, you might bend the penis toward the pelvic bone or anus resulting in high pressure and subsequent tear on the penis.

Instead of thrusting up and down, she should try grinding and rocking your penis in a seated position without resting her body weight on your crotch.

Standing missionary

Women are not thrilled about this sex position because it doesn’t hit the G-spot and some find it difficult to reach orgasm through standing missionary sex.

Men, on the other hand, love standing sex positions and missionary creates room for more intimacy during sex. No wonder, men don’t miss standing missionary sex positions on their sex bucket list.

However, the standing missionary sex position can break your penis if not done properly.

The woman sitting on your dick can put a lot of weight on your penis. This leaves you in complete control of the speed and power of each thrust, this can lead to hitting the pelvic bone unintentionally.

Doggy position

According to a study, 28% of penis fractures are caused by the doggy sex position, which makes it dangerous for men.

Some men easily get carried away in action when their focus is concentrated on the woman’s backside.

This lack of concentration can cost you dearly. Because of this, the overexcited guy could hit his penis on the woman’s pelvis and break it.

Now to reduce the potential risk of breaking your penis, make sure you perform doggy on the floor and not at the end of the bed. Also, adjust your grip firmly around her hips to prevent falling off action or hitting hard on her pelvic bone.

Reverse cowgirl

I have turned down reverse cowgirl many times because it’s uncomfortable. Apparently, some guys love it, but now I know of its dangers, it makes my disinterest in the position stronger.

But here is something you should know about the reverse cowgirl position, the more you bend your penis too far in her vagina, the more you risk breaking your penis.

I don’t think you want to end up with permanent erectile dysfunction because you were thrusting too deep and tore something.

Doctors say 50% of the penile dysfunction cases they see were caused by the reverse cowgirl sex position.

If the rhythm and thrusting are not in sync with that of your partner, it leads to your penis sticking out and crashing on your woman’s pelvic bone.

What happens when you break your penis

You must be wondering why penile dysfunction risks your sex life.

Some say ignorance is bliss, but not in the case of penile dysfunction. The reason it poses more risk is that you don’t break your penis like your would a normal bone.

Your penis breaks when there is a tear in the tunica albuginea, the connective tissue that plays a significant role in maintaining an erection.

A penile dysfunction can be embarrassing and hurt a man’s ego. It leads to unsatisfactory sex life, anxiety, and depression. But more importantly, it can result in irreversible erectile problems including infertility.

When you experience penile dysfunction, you need to go to the hospital for emergency surgery to minimize the risk of having permanent erectile dysfunction.

So if you are enjoying sex and suddenly change position, your penis slips out and you hear a pop sound or feel pain or an injury around your penis, do not leave it to heal on its own.

The sooner you have the surgery done, the safer you will be to return to enjoying your sex life.
