4 Things You Need to Do When Your iPhone Is Wet This Year
Apple’s iPhone Drying Tips to save your iPhone
Apple urges iPhone customers to abandon the traditional method of drying off their phones.
Placing your iPhone in rice has been, for years, a typical method of attempting to salvage an iPhone after dropping it in a pool, toilet, or other container.
Interestingly, the iPhone’s makers warned that immersing the smartphone in rice could cause more harm than good.
WikiHow even wrote an article for some tips that could be helpful to save your phone.
Please avoid these three things:
- Don’t dare dry your iPhone using a superficial heat source or compressed air.
- Don’t add a foreign entity, like a cotton swab or a paper towel, to the connector.
- Don’t even place your iPhone in your bag of rice, LMAO. Accomplishing so could let small particles of rice damage your iPhone.
Now, you will maybe tell me:
OK, Nov Tech, what are we supposed to do if you don’t want us to do these three things to dry our smartphones?
Relax, lol. I know that time is money, lol. Did you find this article below?
If yes, you are a legend, and you know it. Otherwise, I invite you to check it out during your free time.
Instead of making these three mistakes, I advise you to do these four things to save your iPhone:
- Tap your iPhone slowly against your needle with the connector facing down to peel off excess liquid. Leave your iPhone in a dry space with some airflow.
- Wait for at least 30 minutes. Try charging with a Lightning or USB-C cable or connecting an accessory.
- Whether you see the warning again or not, there is still liquid in the connector or under the pins of your cable. Leave your iPhone in a dry area with airflow for up to a day. You can try again to charge or connect an accessory during this period. It might take up to 24 hours to fully dry.
- If your phone has dried out but still isn’t charging, unplug the cable from the adapter, unplug the adapter from the wall (if possible), and then connect it again.
If they are not working, you can contact Apple support.
