4 Incredibly Easy Night Routines To Wake Up To A Exceptionally Good Day

A quick recipe for a great rest

As the common saying goes, our mornings start from the night before.

That’s why having a good nighttime routine can help us to prepare for the upcoming day.

So today I’d like to share with you 4 incredibly easy night routines to wake up to a great day, and these are:

1-Strech

2-Listen to soothing sounds

3-Find something to look forward to

4-Remember what you are grateful for

1-Strech

In our modern lives, it is easy to spend our days without not doing so much exercise, and spend hours in the same position of sitting. Whether it is working on our laptops, or staring down at our phones, our bodies tend to get affected by this lack of movement.

So that’s why it is both relaxing and healthy to stretch before going to sleep.

For that, I recommend a video by Physical Therapists Bob Schrupp and Brad Heineck that have been really helpful for me.

This is the link to the video:

2-Listen to soothing sounds

Throughout our days, we aren’t really left in silence to think.

We’ve got other people, animals, our technological devices, and thus it is not really a common practice to sit in silence and listen to our minds’ chattery.

So at night time, when we are trying to sleep, the voice that’s been silenced for so long can tend to speak and tell us about all the things we wanted to ignore.

Although it is important to listen to yourself, it may not be the best time to do it while trying to fall asleep.

And even if this isn’t the case, listening to a sound that feels soothing can create a better atmosphere for us to rest peacefully.

Therefore, choosing a sound that feels soothing to us, and playing it on a sleep timer can help us to feel more relaxed before falling asleep.

3-Find something to look forward to

I especially used the word “find”, because it is not every day that we have big events coming up such as going on a holiday or buying a new car. But we can also look forward to tasting the new type of coffee we bought or listening to that new song we have discovered.

So the point is not how big of an event awaits us in the future, but it is the value we give to it. This is important because when we are excited about the future, it helps us to feel more energized, and increases our likelihood to have a better day.

4-Remember what you are grateful for

Practicing gratitude is a simple yet powerful tool to shift one’s mindset.

When falling asleep, we can tend to focus more on what’s going wrong in our lives, rather than remembering what’s we are grateful for. But when you compare these two activities, practicing gratitude gives one inspiration and improves their mood, while the other fills one’s head with pessimistic thoughts.

That’s why one of the beneficial nighttime routines is to practice gratitude, and by doing so we can wake up to a new day with a better mindset, and with more energy.
