4 Cheap and Effective Ideas for Thicker, Fuller Hair!

Idea #1 will blow your mind!

Idea #4. Photo by the Author.

I’ve been worrying about my hair all my life. In fact, there have been many times I thought I was going bald, but now I’m in my forties and I still have hair on my head.

Nothing to worry about then, huh?

No. It’s thin and receding in front. My crown is a bald, fleshy spot under dark hairs with not many friends around them.

I’ve been researching a bunch of ideas online and I’ve found there are some answers out that are easier and cheaper than you would think.

Keep reading to find out what you need to know below.

1. You already have this one in your kitchen cabinet

I tell ya, one of the the best things I’ve discovered is the cost of a box of tea.

In fact… it is a box of tea!

Green tea is good for you and you know this because there are one-thousand-and-one blog posts written about it, but did you know you can pour it on your head?

Green tea and even regular tea will make you hair look good and feel great. I don’t really know why, but it comes from nature, has antioxidants and caffeine.

I can attest that this makes my hair feel softer than any shampoo, but I’ve also seen on the “internets” somewhere that there are DHT blockers in green tea. I can see how that is possible because green tea is full of antioxidants, so of course it would be good for your hair and your body.

I leave a pitcher of it in my fridge. I pour it over my head in the sink and let it dry on its own with a towel around my shoulders, so my shirt won’t get wet.

Regular tea is okay, too. Something about the caffeine, but don’t take my word for it. Look it up on YouTube for yourself! That’s where I discovered this crazy idea.

2. Dr. Bronner’s is my favorite shampoo

This stuff is excellent for lots of things, 18 things in 1, like you can wash dishes and clean floors with it, but most importantly it’s good for your hair and body.

Bronner’s has almost every natural oil you can think of from organic hemp to coconut oil. I’ve bought it at Target before, a big bottle for $11 to $13 bucks, and it comes in lots of aromas like lavender and almond, for example. Really super nice stuff to have available in your shower. Also, there is a lot to read on the bottle.

3. Store Brand Minoxidil

What this substance is supposed to do is grow your hair back! Normally, I do not seek this product out, but this past summer I noticed there was a cheaper knock-off version at my local grocery store, so I bit.

Now, I don’t know that much about it, but it does give me confidence when I pour a little on my bald spot. Apparently, it cannot help your receding hairline in front, just the back.

I bought the “no frills” brand for under $20 bucks for 3 months worth, so I’ve been buying it over the past six months. I don’t put a mirror up there to see if it’s working, but I still do it everyday and massage it in and then comb my hair through.

4. A massager for your scalp

Get this scalp Massager and shampoo brush. I found one of these on Amazon and bought it for only $5 or $6 dollars.

One of the reasons we go bald “could be” that blood flow is not happening up there, so a massager like this might help a lot. Plus it might help get the green tea down into those pores where your poor malnourished hair shaft lives.
