Day 37 of this 90-day challenge and the pressure is on. No, I mean it’s ON! Some days I’m bursting at the seams with ideas, and the next day the bag is empty. I hate it when that happens!
Admittedly, I am a few posts in advance with this being Medium post number 50 over the last 37 days. Those were the days when the “bag” was bursting at the seams.
Thus far, I have missed 2 days in the planned 90-day cycle. I’m starting to think I might have “bitten off more than I can chew”. But we will see how it goes. So far so good, and it’s been pretty good.
Well, for me anyway because I like setting realistic goals. Reaching the set goals is one thing, maintaining one high-quality post that solves a problem is quite another.
There are days when you run out of ideas for problems to solve. This is one of those days for me, so I decided to share a bit of my journey and goals on Medium.
Especially since this is my second try with Medium, I sunk myself into stupid mistakes earlier. Formerly being on Medium since 2017. But this time, I am starting with over a decade’s knowledge behind me.
We all make mistakes, and so have I. Although “starting over” on Medium is going a lot better than getting started the first time around. I am rather excited to see what the results will be after the 90 days have passed.
Time’s up on Thursday, January 05, 2023. Expected results. 500 to 1000 Followers. 10K Views with a 60% read ratio, and 50% fan count. If I can reach that in the first 90 days, the mission is accomplished.
Anything more than that will just be a bonus. Now to keep up with the challenge and come up with reader-worthy material to solve problems. I’m not sure if I should be excited or start panicking!
First Month Views And Follower Goals Check.
First Mont’s goals were set to a realistic 1000 views, and at least 100 followers. I have not given the percentage reads and fans much thought at this point.
As illustrated above, the first month’s expectations were shattered, but in a good way! 2,143 views with a 51% read ratio, and a 22% fans (Claps) ratio. The growth might seem small, but the important part is that it is consistent.
Over 50% of the views are from people who actually read my posts on Medium and that is a pretty good read ratio in my opinion. Especially bearing in mind that this is a brand new Medium Profile, 37 days young!
Currently at 140 followers, exceeding my first month's expectation with 40 followers. That is 40% more than I expected. Setting realistic goals means you will be less likely to get disappointed.
But these first 37 days also mark both the start of writing for Medium Publications, along creating my own Medium Publications. But more about that excitement in a bit.
Because what I didn’t know about Medium before, is the effectiveness and popularity of having your own Medium Publications. I only wish that I had started with Medium Publications a long time ago!
Medium Publications Goal Check.
My aim was to get approved as a writer for at least two to three Medium Publications. Before I knew it, I was approved as a writer on no less than 9 Medium Publications.
That is not counting my own 4 Medium publications. Bringing the Publications that I can write for to a total of thirteen. I think I’m just going to focus on these for now.
I really didn’t expect to get approved with so many Medium Publications within the first month of “being back”. Below is a list of Medium Publishers you might want to explore too.
Medium Publications played quite a role when it comes to the views, responses, and reads over the last few days. But trying to publish at least one post per day on all these Medium Publishers is a goal still out of my reach.
It’s challenging enough to come up with one good Medium post per day, let alone 13! Not happening, and I refuse to water down my content just to push volume!

The four Medium Publications I own had 1280 views combined at the time of writing this article. When the first Medium Publication launched exactly One Week Ago!
All four of these Medium Publications were started during the last week. So, my Medium profile had 2143 views in the last 37 days. These 4 brand new Medium Publications had 1280 views and 135 minutes of reading time in the last 7 days!
Medium Publications are my new best friend, they remind me a lot of Quora Spaces with a few minor differences. Of all the traffic strategies I know about, in my opinion.
Medium Publications and Quora Spaces are among the “easiest” ways of getting a lot of free, and active visitors! Truth be told when I started this 90-day challenge. Creating my own Publications was not part of the “plan”.

Having my own Medium Publications was not part of the 90-day set goal, that just happened out of pure curiosity! In fact, I watched a few YouTube videos so I could get to know my way around Medium Publications.
I can tell you; that I am really glad I did! Because it is super easy to create your own Medium Publications, especially when you are familiar with the Medium Writing Platform.
Therefore, I decided to create 4 Medium Publications based on the most searched and read topics on Medium. It so happens that “Writing And Making Money” is a topic right up my alley!
Apart from the list of awesome publishers on Medium, I suggested you write for it earlier. You might also want to apply to write for the 4 Medium Publications listed below.
But why should you apply to write for my personal Medium Publications, and get your work published? Because all 4 of these publications, as mentioned already, are based on the most read and searched topics on Medium.

Combining Medium and Quora means a combined visitor count, just south of 1 Billion visitors right in front of you. While I find Quora and Medium audiences among the most active on the internet.
