The beginnings of a very important list (At least it’s important to me.)

Hello All,

I woke up this morning, stumbled out of bed, and landed on Medium. (As is my habit these days.) As a fledgling writer on Medium it is fun to see the stats change from time to time, but that is a story for another time.

(Editing note: I’m re-reading this story and for some odd reason a parody of Macklemore’s Thrift Shop has entered my head. It goes something like this. “I’m gonna read some stories to put money in writers pockets. I better not quickly read them. I’ll stay on for 30 seconds…..)

The point of this story is what happened immediately after I got on Medium.

I stumbled across this story by Sasha Desideri. The headline pulled me in, and I’m so glad that it did. (Sasha your article was wonderfully written by the way.)

I’m glad because it eventually led me to the comments section of this story by Sílvia PM, PhD 🍂. (Another wonderfully written piece. Thank you Sílvia.)

Which sparked the idea for this story that I’m writing right now.

You see last night I wrote a longer piece about branding and being a generalist. I guess you could call it a manifesto of sorts.

That story was on my mind when I stumbled across the two stories above.

I felt inspired and thought: “Who are the people commenting on this story? Are they a generalist like me? You know what? I should highlight them and share their stories.” Thus this list is born.

I always love a good list, and I love to share those lists with others. Medium seems like the best place to do that.

This is a list of generalist accounts as I find them. People who are passionate about multiple topics and ideas. A list of people who get excited at the possibility of learning something new.

A note about this list: This list is created to bring generalists together. If you find yourself on this list and want to be removed please let me know. If you want to be added to this list because you are also a generalist please let me know. Being included on this list does not mean that I endorse every article that has been written by each writer. This list is meant for generalists to explore and find each other.
