3 Ways to Stop Hiding and Start Allowing

Abundance is yours when you show up

This is the time of year when we begin to slow down. We feel the need for a bit of a winter’s rest. There is a natural flow to this as nature is slowing down. The plants have stopped growing, but their roots deep in the ground are still at work. It is cold here in the mornings, and staying cosy and warm is something we desire. I am feeling like I want to take a short holiday very soon. However, I know that I still need to grow those roots, even in the cold of winter. Every day I must stretch myself and reach for the abundance that is waiting for me. I can do that by showing up. On my 100-day journey studying the overflow of life, yesterday I learned the value of keeping my commitments.

Earlier this week, the day came where I usually record, edit, and post a video on my YouTube channel. I told my friend in a message that I felt like I was slowing down this time of year. I was not sure I had the energy to do a video this week, but I did not want to lose my momentum. I had not posted a video last week because of Thanksgiving, so I did not want to get in the habit of making excuses.

I am happy to say yesterday I went outside to record my video. I did it with fresh energy and joy in my heart. I realized that by not making that video, I was going into hiding. I was hiding my light from others, and I was fading into the background. If I am to allow abundance to flow into my life during this journey and beyond, I must show up.

I am going to share with all of you three ways you can stop hiding and start allowing on your path to abundance. Then I will share about three people who helped me on that path this week.

Show up every day

Earlier this year, I realized I was hiding a lot. As an empath, sometimes life can get overwhelming, and I can fade away into the background. Even though I would post things and work on engaging, I was not showing up anywhere every day. This all changed when I decided to create a 100-day writing challenge for myself. The subject was a spiritual journey. That challenge helped me develop a daily writing habit and taught me to show up every day.

When you show up every day to practice and share your talent, your skills and confidence grow. If you love your craft, you will find that every day you look forward to practising it. One thing that I learned during my journey of showing up every day is that you must create first. Before you go on to do tasks like checking email, messages, or responding to comments, make sure that you create something to share. Get out that laptop, take out your brushes, turn on your camera, and create!

Share with your whole heart

The emotions that you feel are a great gateway to sharing with the world. Nobody feels that exact same way about something as someone else. Your voice and the way you tell your story from your point of view is unique. When you share with your whole heart, you will find that others will resonate with you. You are broadcasting a message that comes from your soul. Those kinds of thoughts are well-received by others.

When we decide to share our spirit instead of hiding, our whole world opens up. Through writing on Medium from early March until now, I have created a community of friends and writers. We all love and support each other with such a beautiful spirit of giving. That is the abundance you allow when you show up and share your heart.

Create from your life story

Sometimes we are not sure what to create every day. We may think that we do not have anything to say or to share. However, your life experience makes a great subject to study. That is why whenever I write, I do not plan ahead. Whatever is happening in my life experience will give me something to write about. I am amazed at the lessons that I learn each day that I can share with my readers. Someone needs to hear your story in the way that you tell it.

Every day, life is teaching you. You may learn something unique from a mistake that you make. At other times, a walk outside may bring something to mind. Life is always our professor. We have endless ways to create and express our everyday experiences in unique ways. We can do that by writing, painting, drawing, taking photos, recording videos, singing, dancing, playing instruments, and so much more. Share about your life through creativity. Someone is waiting to hear your story. It will light up their life.

My prayer and my intention for you today is for you to create something every day. When you show up every day, you are allowing abundance to flow to you. You stop that flow if you start to hide.

Day #37: How can you show up every day and create?

I want to share about three special people who helped me this week with their presence and their words. They are all shining examples of allowing and showing up daily. Thank you all for showing me the way this week.

Thank you Aimée for your kindness and encouragement. It was just what I needed. Please check out her beautiful article:

Melissa Bee is such a lovely and dear friend here on Medium. She is an amazing and soulful poet and writer. She also is an editor at Paper Poetry and Age of Empathy. She is always my cheerleader here every day! I appreciate you so much, Melissa! I loved this beautiful piece that she wrote, and the poetry she so bravely recited in her video. She inspired me to make my video this week as well. Check out her poetry and video in this piece:

Agnes Louis is a writer who writes straight from her heart. I have learned so much from her. She is always so allowing and abundant. I appreciate how candid she is about life and her experiences. I loved the piece she wrote about showing up every day, it was exactly what I needed to read this week. Thank you, Agnes, for sharing your life with us! Check it out in this link:

Here is my YouTube video on my channel, Joyful Decluttering. I am taking my 100-day spiritual journey and relating it each week to taking care of yourself and your home:
