3 Quick Tips for Productivity for Busy Writers
Do you have writing deadlines to meet? Feeling low on energy?
Let’s hack into your recharge zone to get you back into productivity mode.
Respect your body’s natural productivity rhythm
Some of us are night owls, others like mornings, and some prefer afternoons. Schedule your writing to fit in with your natural rhythm pattern to be more productive. Unsure of your rhythm? Note in a journal the times you feel most productive or get things done. Do this for 7–14 days and check for any patterns.
Take regular breaks
Want to have more energy and be productive in your writing — take regular breaks. 10 minutes downtime after every 40 meetings of focus time can work wonders. For 5 minutes of the 10-minute writing break try diffused writing. This is where you think about what you have just written! Then get back to your writing with fresh eyes and new thoughts.
Micro-tasking to fill short bursts of time
Grab your writing journal (if you have one) and make a to-do list of some micro-tasks that you can tackle in between bigger tasks. This could be anything from responding to 3 comments on one of your posts or read and respond to 3 short-form articles a day.
You’ve talent and energy — go go go!
