3 First Class Writers Who Want to Help You Flourish

We all share a similar experience regarding our discovery of the Medium platform. As a life-long, wannabe professional writers, finding a website that provides the opportunity to write and get paid for it? Jackpot!!!
Perusing the main page of Medium and noticing quite a few articles touting how the author made $1,000 or more on a particular article drew us in even more.
We sit down, write up a quick article because, well we know what we are doing, and we are just as good as everyone else on Medium! We know nothing yet of publications, so we hit the Publish button and sit back, waiting for the money to start rolling in.
After a few hours of checking our stats to see none or very few views, we realize that we need to dig deeper into the whole Medium platform and learn how it works.
Sound familiar? We have all been there, even those that claim to earn thousands of dollars every month. How do they do it? What are the publications? How do I become a writer for a publication? How do I get followers? What is the proper format to write an article? What in the world is curation???
If you are anything like me, I had a ton of questions that I wanted to find the answers to.

Time to do a deep dive
After reading a few of the “I Made a Gazillion Dollars” articles, I realized those weren’t very helpful for beginners. As new writers, we need more of a step-by-step instructional outline on how to get started.
My research brought me to YouTube, and there within the multitude of videos available one jumped out like a beacon in the dark!
Like a gift laid out before me, the YouTube channel of Zulie Rane appeared on my screen.
Zulie Rane
Zulie is one of the more prolific writers on Medium. If memory serves, she has over 10,000 followers on her profile page (with the new profile beta page she is testing, her number of followers is not listed on there).
Her YouTube channel has almost 6,000 subscribers. The most amazing revelation? Her channel has over 60 how-to videos all dedicated to writing on Medium!
This video is 26 minutes long. In it, she explains 4 of the most important steps a new writer needs to follow to get started and succeed on Medium.
She has many other videos that cover the majority of topics a budding Medium author needs, including:

How impressive I thought it was that she is willing to go out of her way to teach and support new writers! I decided to search deeper into YouTube and see who else was on there.
Tom Kuegler
Known as Finding Tom on YouTube, Tom Kuegler has 46,000 followers on Medium. His YouTube channel has 141,000 subscribers, though his 200+ videos are not all dedicated to Medium.
He has created a sub-channel dedicated to blogging with 10 videos dealing specifically with writing on Medium.
Along with this video teaching us how to obtain 600 email subscribers per month, he has videos on collaborating and going viral among others.
Ayodeji Awosika
Fortunately for us, Ayodeji Awosika decided to jump on the “help new writers” bandwagon. One of the original writers on the Medium platform, Ayo has over 75,000 followers. He has been writing since before the Medium Partner Program was instilled.
He has a wealth of information that he is willing to share with us, so pay attention!
His YouTube channel has garnered almost 2,000 subscribers in under 5 months. All 22 of his videos are chockful of advantageous strategies and tips for Medium writers.
