3 Easy and Effective Tips to Fall Asleep Faster

Recipe for sleeping like a baby if your anxiety is keeping you up.

Is bed your favourite place on Earth?

During the day, you cannot wait to unwind in your comfortable sheets, but when the time comes, you toss and turn before drifting off to sleep?

That sounds like an ineffective bedtime routine.

I am here to help.

After experimenting with what works long-term, I have established a nighttime routine that makes me sleep like a baby.

Give Your Worries Away to the Universe.

When you worry, your body is alert. Your mind is constantly buzzing trying to come up with solutions to your problems.

Worrying is unproductive. First, you create with more concerns instead of solutions. Second, it keeps you awake.

Before drifting off to sleep, you need to calm down your nervous system. Your imagination is your best tool in this mission.

When lying in bed or sitting comfortably in silence, imagine waking up refreshed. Then keep the imagined scenario going: follow up with your morning routine, sip a delicious coffee on the balcony, and watch the world goes by.

No care in the world. No planning. No analysing.

Imagine everything is taken care of. Why? Because you have an assistant who manages your affairs and daily schedules. Your only “job” is to tell the assistant what you want, and they will make it happen.

The universe is here to help you and make that a reality.

You can go to sleep knowing that everything is already taken care of. The universe will smooth some things out for you, and make sure you have the strength to deal with the rest.

When your head hits the pillow after a long day, you will feel satisfied and at peace. You’ll know you have made the best of your day, and tomorrow you will continue living your best life.

Your manager will make sure of it.

The universe is your helper. Life is not happening to you but for you. Have trust that everything works out in your favour.

Fall asleep knowing that you no longer have to worry. Don’t overcomplicate your life by coming up with worst-case scenarios.

Whatever strains your brain, decide to hand over a complaint to the Universe and tomorrow the answer will arrive. Close your eyes and imprint on your mind:

I give away my worries to the Universe. I trust that everything is taken care of.

You are a powerful force co-creating with the Universe. Allow it to help you.

It works for me every time. The key is to fuel it with belief and surrender.

Let go so that you can fall asleep with ease.

Invest in Magnesium.

To fall asleep and stay asleep, your body and brain need to relax. Magnesium helps the body to wind down. This nutrient reduces stress and helps you sleep longer.

Magnesium plays a key role in sleep regulation. Current research shows that additional magnesium can help the body relax and even improve symptoms of insomnia.

Magnesium maintains a healthy immune system, regulates muscle and nerve function, ensures a steady blood pressure, and keeps your bones strong. Magnesium also helps manage blood sugar levels.

You can get magnesium through drinking water and eating foods such as leafy greens (kale, spinach, collard greens), nuts, flaxseed, oats, fatty fish and avocados. You can also try supplementing your diet with magnesium.

Since investing in magnesium supplements, I fall asleep easily and peacefully. (Note: Before taking the supplement, consult with your doctor — there are complications for some people.)

While certainly not a cure-all, the right supplement can support high-quality sleep when paired with healthy nightly habits.

It brings me to my next point:

Establish a Soothing Nighttime Routine.

Do you want to improve the quality of your sleep? Commit to it.

You won’t see any external changes unless you change. Every improvement starts with you.

You won’t fix the communication patterns in a relationship without a better understanding of yourself. In the same way, you won’t fix your sleep schedule without changing your habits.

How do you unwind to sleep? Do you load your brain with screen time, flashy images when scrolling through social media, and videos while going through YouTube?

The evening is not the time for it. The evening is for pleasure, self-care, and self-reflection.

Give up any screen time more than an hour before sleep. Prepare your clothes for the next day. Prepare your food for the next day as much as you can. Turn on relaxing music if you prefer. Turn your home into a sanctuary where you feel safe.

Declutter your bedroom from noise, screens, and stimulants. Open your windows to let in some fresh air.

Take care of your body. Have a warm bath. Nourish your body with love and care.

Have some warm tea or water before you go to sleep. Take your magnesium. Read a relaxing book. Meditate at least 20 minutes before sleep. Sit in silence. After a productive day, you deserve time in silence.

Keep it simple. No change of schedule. No constant experimentation. It is called a bedtime routine for a reason.

Unwind knowing that you have done well. Prepared like that, you can greet the morning.

Your next day starts with how you end the one before.

You can drastically improve the quality of your sleep if you change your habits during the day.

Quit worrying. It strips you of enjoying your life.

Invest in your diet. How you eat is how you sleep.

Soothe yourself into sleep. Don’t rush through your evenings.

Small changes lead to big results.

Your good night’s sleep is within your reach. Commit to a better life by taking care of your bedtime.

When you wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day, the world looks different, doesn’t it?

Thank you for being here, — Kate

I wish you a night of peace and quiet.
