3 Cloud Certifications That Are Impactful For Your Resume

If you plan to do interviews with Google, they usually appreciate it if the candidate has a GCP certification on their resume. Cloud architecture is a highly sought-after skill in today’s job market. The demand for cloud architects is expected to continue growing as more companies move their IT infrastructure to the cloud. When I talk with customers, I clearly see the need to bring in more specialist engineers and professionals that are knowledgeable in different areas.
According to Indeed, cloud engineers earn an average base salary of $120,000 USD.
In this article, I want to share the 3 most impactful Cloud certifications to help you land your dream job in Cloud Computing.
1. Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect Average salary: $139,000–$175,000 USD
According to A Cloud Guru, GCP is the third most used public cloud. However, it is one of the top certifications in high demand. Taking a GCP certification can help you with recognition and credibility (hence, helping you when doing an interview at Google), learning a wide range of topics, including cloud computing concepts, infrastructure design, security, data storage, networking, and more.
The breadth of coverage makes it an excellent way to validate your knowledge and skills across cloud-related disciplines.

2. Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert Average salary: $119,000–$152,000
Before taking the Solutions Architect Expert exam, you must pass the AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions. If you want to start with the Azure Fundamentals, I encourage you to read this article by Beatriz Oliveira.
The Architect certification can be a challenging one. According to the CIO magazine study, this is one of the 15 Top Certifications in high demand in 2022.
As of February 2023, the cost to take the Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is $165. Check the website for updates and to learn more.
3. AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate Average salary: $113,000–$149,000 USD
The AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate validates the technical knowledge and skills required to design and deploy applications on AWS. This certification demonstrates proficiency in designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
It is recommended for those with at least one year of hands-on experience with AWS.
The current cost of the exam is $150 USD.
