Submit to Publications

They’re not as intimidating and scary as you think!

Throughout my short time on Medium I’ve seen a few people, mainly new writers like myself, talk about how they haven’t worked up the courage to submit their work to publications yet. The common theme seems to be that they’re too intimidated, or they think their work isn’t good enough.

I’m here to tell you that you are good enough and that publications aren’t as scary as you may think. In fact, they’re quite the opposite. All of the publications I’ve been accepted into (around 15 so far, I think) have been amazingly welcoming, friendly and supportive.

If you have followers on Medium, people like your work. People want to read your work. Submitting your writing to publications offers you the opportunity to get that work out in front of more people. There are plenty of incredible small, upcoming publications that would love to hear from you.

Go for it.

I’m submitting 30 pieces in 30 days to 30 different pubs!
