2022 Awaits You

What’s next for you in the new year?

My friends and I did vision boards last night and drank wine.

We reflected on 2021 and all the fun times we had as well as all the setbacks. I started to reflect and think about what I wanted for the new year. I started looking at the magazines to see what I want to add to my board, and surprisingly it was difficult to find what to cut out. This is a good thing because it means that I am slowly accomplishing a lot. A lot of my goals were words rather than pictures.

The main word for this year is commitment. I want to stay committed to starting projects than finishing them. Joining Medium is a prime example of commitment because I feel like I’m giving up too soon and that’s not good especially if writing is what I enjoy.

Practice doing a vision board and think about what you will put on yours?

We each went around the table and asked one another to say one word that will describe our goal for the new year. Two of my friends said purposefully is their word because they want to live a purposeful life.

What word describes who you want to be or accomplish next year?

· Disciplined

· Committed

· Determined

· Perseverance

· Wealthy

· Confident

Thinking back to what you did in 2021 helps you realize what habits to continue and what to stop.

Write down in your journal what you want to get rid of for the new year and what you want to keep doing, and ways to start something new in your life. Some of us stay complicit because we are afraid of change. This keeps us from growing so don’t make this a habit and keep going for what you want.

Doing a vision board made me notice so much about myself and how I need to work on my finances and my health. I want to be healthier for myself and my family.

COVID and Crime Rates

I can’t help but wonder if this will get better or worse next year. I have been paranoid about COVID-19 and how fast it’s spreading as well as all the crimes going on. I try to minimize my time on social media to prevent stress and anxiety on these topics. It’s important to be informed but it’s also important to take care of my mental health.

Be more confident about sharing your vulnerabilities. Lately, I have been flat out saying I had anxiety really bad to the point I had panic attacks, saying this has helped me realize how much I have grown as a person that I can say that and when someone says they have it too and ask me what has helped? I start telling them what works.
