Abstract

upgraded to resolve this little discomfort.

Studio-Quality Mics, the current set of microphones on the iPhones, are more than reasonable. They can capture a clear sound and deliver quality beyond what we’ve seen from smartphones. Having said that, many people use their iPhones for recording podcasts and songs. Some don’t even have the budget for a professional microphone. That is why I would love to see an excellent quality microphone from Apple. I believe that Apple is very well capable of creating one.

Louder Speakers, the iPhone 12 series comes with a great set of speakers. They sound crystal clear. The problem is the loudness. I think they are in an appropriate range for a smartphone speaker; however, I have often seen people wanting to play a song on their iPhones and could only increase the volume to a certain level.

Faster Wireless Charging, many people love the MagSafe technology and charge their iPhones wirelessly. It is a technology that has brought us one step closer to a fully wireless iPhone; however, the charging speed is agonizingly slow. Having to wait more than 2 hours to fully charge your iPhone is not a good experience. Many competitors offer wireless chargers with higher wattages and allow customers to have a charged phone in less than 40 minutes.

Port Removal, the lightning port is old, the USB-C is new but a little spacious for a smartphone. A good solution would be to remove all ports once and for all. Many already own wireless chargers. Despite connecting it to the Mac, what use is a port on an iPhone other than complicating the water-proofing process?

Stronger Magnets, the MagSafe technology is magical. I love how the Wireless MagSafe charger sticks to my iPhone 12 mini and charges the phone without needing me to adjust the device’s position. The issue I have with the current implementation of MagSafe is the strength of the magnets. They are good, just not strong enough. A stronger magnet would make me feel more secure mounting the device on my car’s dashboard.

Weight Reduction, iPhones are generally not lightweight devices. The strain on my wrist after holding the device for longer than 10 minutes is noticeable. A lighter device will improve the experience of holding the device for long durations.

PS5 Compatibility, I know this is a specific use case of mine. Still, I think the relationship between Apple and Sony Entertainments is good enough to create a communication channel between PS5 and iPhone 13. Features like HomeKit support, NFC Key for locking the console, and Siri Integration would make the next-gen gaming even more next-gen.

Enhanced AirDrop, the current implementation of AirDrop is more than excellent. It just works, just as Apple intended. But, I think if Apple makes their own wireless modem, we could see WiFi 6E network speeds from networking features such as AirDropping between two iPhones.

Smaller Motherboard, the current iPhone 12 models comes with a relatively small motherboard. But, their L-Shape design makes it challenging to insert one unit of Battery into the device. A port-less iPhone with a smaller motherboard allows Apple to put a larger battery and improve the phone’s water resistance.

Higher MegaPixels, the cameras on iPhones are phenomenal. They capture unique details from almost any kind of situation. Many people use night photography to capture high-resolution images from the sky. 20 Wishes for the upcoming iPhone 13…

I am super excited to find out what Apple will bring to the table for the iPhone 13. Especially the mini version as it is the best size for a smartphone. I think last year’s 12 models were great, and what would make them even better is a bold reveal of what users have requested from Apple for many years.

In this story, I will talk introduce 20 wishes for the upcoming iPhone 13.

20 wishes for the iPhone 13

 1. Bigger Battery, iPhone 12 has a decent battery life, but it is not good enough; we need a larger battery capacity. If Apple manages to put a 4000 mAh battery (Specially within the Mini models,) I believe the device will easily last 3 days on regular use.
 2. Improved LiDAR, we currently have the first generation of LiDAR sensors on our iPhones and iPad Pros. It is an excellent sensor and works really well; however, the amount of dots projected onto the surface you are scanning is not enough to get an accurate model you are working with. An improved LiDAR sensor will make AR applications even more powerful. Better AR applications result in a brighter future for education and human-computer interaction.
 3. M1 Level SoC, the next generation of Apple Silicon on the iPhone 13, should be as powerful as their M1 chips and more efficient than them. If Apple can’t put a larger battery capacity on iPhone 13, their A15 chip should be highly efficient in managing single-core operations.
 4. Touch ID, the lock button on the side of the iPhone, is large enough, which makes it perfectly fit to host a fingerprint sensor. Living in the pandemic has definitely made unlocking with FaceID complex, especially for those who don’t own an Apple Watch, to ease the unlock process of their iPhones. A fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button will make using the iPhone much more effortless.
 5. ProMotion Display, iPad Pro users know the greatness of this technology. I believe having a ProMotion display can significantly benefit the user experience of using an iPhone.
 6. Water Eject, I admire how well the water-eject feature works on the Apple Watch. It is crazy how well it is implemented and made my jaw drop the first time I saw it work after tracking my workout in the swimming pool. This feature could save many iPhones that have been exposed to water.
 7. AR Mode, with the advancement of ARKit and iPhone camera hardware, the existence of a visual AR would make the device especially useful for those in need of accessibility features to interact with their surroundings. It will also be cool to use the AR and feel like Iron Man scanning all objects, placing virtual models into the world, and unlock more possibilities.
 8. Accurate Back Tap, the current implementation of (double/triple) back tap to extend the functionality of your iPhone is decent, not great. There have been many situations where my iPhone registered double-tap without any action from me. I think the problem relates to the accuracy of the iPhone’s sensors, and they can be upgraded to resolve this little discomfort.
 9. 11. Faster Wireless Charging, many people love the MagSafe technology and charge their iPhones wirelessly. iPhone 13 Mini

The iPhone Mini is the best version of any smartphone one can own. It is incredibly light, powerful, and just the right size. If you complain about the enormous size of smartphones after iPhone 6 era, then the Mini is just what you want.

I would love to see in the Mini version of iPhone 13 is larger battery size, alongside a LiDAR sensor.

iPhone 13 Pro Max

The pro max model should be modified explicitly for certain professionals who want a little more extra from their iPhones. What I mean by that is those photographers who crave the best lens. The developers who seek the best battery life. The designers who depend on user research for their work and demand the best hardware for their toolkit.

I would love to see a Macro lens alongside studio-quality microphones for the Pro Max models.
