2 Platforms Outside Medium to Create Your Personal Brand With Writing
What would you do if Medium shuts down tomorrow?

It is only a few days back when I got terrified with Facebook Medium groups to market my stories.
They used to be a great resource for getting more eyeballs on your work, but now it’s just an Article dumping ground.
Forget about communicating and interacting with fellow writers and their work. No one wants to do that anymore.
Just dump your work and move on, expecting people to read them.
So I decided, to let it go. Left such groups and started poking my head around exploring platforms like Medium. I discovered 2 such platforms and started marketing my work.
It did wonders for me.
People are genuinely engaging with my work and dropping valuable comments. No one is jostling to dump their articles.
The two stages to showcase your art are —
Let’s make a nosedive into my learnings.
ManyStories
A lot of you might know this and are actively promoting your articles on this platform.
Have you ever thought of creating your personal brand, or you just come and share your articles?
I did the same in my first month, but soon realized the potential of it and started reading, interacting, and appreciating fellow writer's work.

This is how the homepage of Manystories look.
Simple, effective, and easy to navigate. You can read stories from anywhere around the world, any topic of your preference. Follow your favorite writers and engage with them.
This is the most active communtiy of writers and readers on the Internet.
When to Share Your Stories?
Here’s a catch.
You can’t simply register and start sharing your stories. It has a process.
Since it is open to everyone, it has a downside. If everyone starts sharing their articles simultaneously — it will become another dumping ground of articles on the web.
Have patience.
As you register to Manystories, you have an option to share your art. After selecting it, you will be receiving an email, asking you to wait for some days or weeks before your turn comes.
In my case, It took 3 weeks of patience to start sharing my stories.
How to Share your articles?

The process of marketing your work is simple, just copy the URL of your article and you are good to go.
Simple yet effective.
Your Profile page

This is my profile page on Manystories. All your articles will be listed as you share them.
Anyone, from any corner of the world, can share and read other writer’s work.
PayWall doesn’t work here. Yes, you heard it right. People who are not Medium members can still read all your stories.
Isn’t it fascinating?
You can also Collect your articles inside a niche. Like in Pinterest, pins are collected inside suitable boards. In the same way, suitable articles can also be collected in the right groups.
Pro-Tip —
Be active on Manystories. The algorithm works the same as other platforms. Be consistent and active. Appreciate other writer’s work. Build an audience. Don’t just dump your articles.
Mix
A bigger and better platform than Manystories. If used rightly, the number of views rolling in your article will be enormous.
It is similar and unique from Manystories in many ways.

The homepage of Mix.
As you scroll down, different articles will start to show up.
Even NYTIMES market their articles on this platform.
What else do you need to believe that it’s a worthy platform?
To get started, first register yourself with your preferred Gmail I’d and start connecting your social media handles or website URL with Mix.
It does not have a waiting period to share your stories. As soon as you are verified, you are good to go.
One term in which Mix is superior to Manystories is — User lands to your website after clicking on the link. Whereas in Manystories user reads your article within the website, without jumping onto your blog.

Writing is fun. Writing is a hobby.
Most people out their classify writing like that. But, there’s so much more to it.
Building up your personal brand with something you love. Isn’t it remarkable? Isn’t this excites you?
Just help people with their problems and be authentic.
There are numerous such platforms out there, where you can showcase your authenticity and art. The correct usage distinguishes a professional writer from a journal one.
If you help others, they will also help you climbing up the stairs of success.
