13 Ways to Prevent Overwhelm in 2022
Easy self-development principles to prevent us from drowning in the matrix

The last two years have been extremely challenging for most of us. The world we were born into is no longer, and for many, it is frightening and sad.
As January is fast approaching, we struggle to find excitement for what is to come.
We expected things to have normalized by now.
Some are exhausted.
Perhaps I can take you back to when you were starting to walk. Falling, getting up, falling, getting up.
Crying. Laughing. More crying.
Sometimes afraid of the next big step. Afraid for the big unknown.
Yet here you are walking just fine today, right?
I am sharing 13 principles that can prevent you from becoming overwhelmed in 2022.
1. Allowing
Understand that there is always another view or opinion. Observe this ‘other side’ and relax into it. Polarity and contrast need to be embraced, not resisted or feared.
Allow others to choose their own reality.
Refrain from arguing and stirring up conflict. Let others be. There’s no need to force an opinion on another.
2. Tuning in to our rhythm
We are unique. We each have a unique rhythm.
Don’t get lost in the rhythm of the media, of the world, of other people.
Discover your rhythm. Feel for it in every passing now. Become attuned to it so that you can follow your highest good.
3. Simplifying
Learn to P A U S E.
We all tend to make life way more complicated than it needs to be. Refrain from speaking the words “it’s complicated” or “my life is complicated”.
Be right where you are.
Stay present in the moment. That is the simplest thing you can do. Focus on the breath that nourishes you. In its simplest form, it is our biggest ally.
4. One thing at a time
Let go of the race to nowhere.
Avoid the rush.
Let there be as much joy in the process as the end goal. They are both the same energy. It is us that give different meanings to them, that places a certain value that in essence can never be actualized.
Why?
There is only this moment here and now.
The creation process is C H A N G E, not a DESTINATION.
5. Observing the ups and the downs
Become the observer.
We feel overwhelmed as we get caught in the ups and downs of our lives. All the justifying and desperation to ‘succeed’ fill us with anxiety and depression.
There’s no need to identify with these ups and downs.
They are not an indicator of our value.
Become the observer and navigate based on your observations.
6. Welcoming change
How else can we grow and evolve if it was not for change?
Our power lies in how we perceive the change.
Let’s aim to remain positive and not allow fear to control our experiences.
7. Keeping things light
Don’t take everything so seriously.
Things are changing very fast and being hung up on the details only creates unnecessary resistance.
Free yourself from the need to control everything and everyone in your life.
8. Making time for ourselves
Ask yourself,
What do I need right now?
Do not become overwhelmed by the vast amount of information streaming in continuously.
9. Being clear about who and what we want to be influenced by
It is easy to get swept away in the crowds. Little by little our realities are influenced by those things and those people we choose to surround ourselves with.

10. Re-energizing through periods of solitude
Take periods of alone time to keep your energy aligned with your soul’s purpose. See these periods as necessary aspects of your growth in this coming year.
A new self-development routine is paramount.
11. Choosing to see the positive
Every experience can be perceived as having a positive impact on our growth.
It is up to us to discipline ourselves and change our definitions of our beliefs.
12. Allowing our perceptions to shift to include a bigger picture
An awakening is happening and it is not the time to hold onto old habits and beliefs.
Be very grateful that you get to experience this time on earth.
Our souls signed up for this level of personal mastery.
13. Being brave and bold
Be brave with your light so that you can share it with others and keep moving forward, even if some days you just don’t feel like it.
Do not buy into the power of the illusion.
Know who and what you are.
Conclusion
If we want to rise above what the media wants us to perceive we need to equip our toolbox with the elements that will truly serve us.
Disciplining ourselves to stay focused on what the outer reflection of events is telling us about what we need to change on the inside, is what will carry us through 2022.
