Summary

The article discusses the interplay between awareness, free will, and consciousness, emphasizing that true consciousness arises from the exercise of free will within the context of time and change, and that the quality of our choices shapes our consciousness and overall life quality.

Abstract

The article "How Our Choices Relate to Consciousness" delves into the intricate relationship between consciousness and free will, asserting that consciousness is not merely awareness but a self-aware state that involves the recognition of one's environment and the ability to make choices within a temporal framework. It posits that without free will, awareness serves no purpose, and that consciousness emerges when awareness becomes a decision-maker, acknowledging the before and after of choices. The author, Helen Müller, a DNA Upgrade specialist, argues that the quality of our consciousness is directly influenced by the quality of our choices, using happiness as an example to illustrate the difference between superficial and authentic choices. The article concludes by advocating for the development of a heightened awareness that leads to real choices, which in turn contributes to the evolution of consciousness, manifesting attributes such as universal unconditional love, the elimination of fear, and the transcendence of ego.

Explaining the relationship between Consciousness and free will

There would be no Consciousness if there was no free will.

Every choice we make affects our Consciousness.

To understand ourselves better we need to have a full grasp on:

Awareness

Free Will Choices

Consciousness

Let’s break it all down and explore the relationship between the above-mentioned and how it impacts the quality of our lives.

What is awareness?

Being aware to me means having access to information that you can choose to use at free will.

You can call this a knowing if you like.

Consciousness is self-aware and aware of its environment.

It is helpful to understand the following:

Awareness has no purpose if there is no free will involved.

When that awareness becomes a decision-maker, within a finite space, it becomes Consciousness.

What do I mean by finite space? It refers to time.

Why time?

Simply put, there is a before and after a choice.

There needs to be an awareness of the change and interaction of things for it to become Consciousness.

What is Consciousness?

In a most basic expression, Consciousness is awareness.

Pieces of the puzzle coming together

These things can get confusing, so let’s break it down:

Imagine there's a lot of data or information in a system. This information cannot be useful if we don't know about it right?

That ‘knowing’ then becomes the awareness, a self-awareness.

Merely knowing that there’s data in a system is not very useful right?

That brings us to free will.

We have been given the ability to make choices.

The quality of our choices determines the quality of our lives and our Consciousness.

About those choices…

A great example I want to use here is the choice of happiness.

You often hear:

Happiness is a choice.

This you can call an illusionary choice. There is no consciousness behind it. One might think one’s making a choice, yet it is not so.

It has to be a REAL CHOICE.

Not merely a pretentious choice.

Let’s look at a poor quality choice by using the happiness example:

Poor quality choice: Repeatedly programming oneself with a limiting statement like “Happiness is a choice”.

We know it is not true. How do we know it?

1. We have tried it.

2. We see unfulfilled or unhappy people everywhere.

3. We can logically understand that if it was as simple as choosing it, the world would be full of happy people.

Better quality choice: Making happiness a priority, define it from a place of knowing, not merely believing, and truly FEEL it.

Conclusion

Awareness of self is just a thing, a larger awareness takes the environment into account.

The result is that one is presented with countless opportunities to make choices for change and evolution to take effect.

A real awareness and real consciousness make real choices.

Improving the quality of consciousness, advancing the quality and depth of awareness, understanding your nature and purpose, manifesting universal unconditional love, letting go of fear and eliminating ego, desires, wants, needs or preconceived notions — these are the attributes and results of a successfully evolving consciousness.
