12 Ways To Reflect Post Lockdown

My answers to the 12 questions post-lockdown

Finally getting into my answers to this challenge received from Aurora Eliam, CMP and Trista Ainsworth. I also came across your answers to this challenge you initiated Keno Ogbo. It was interesting to read your three perspectives looking back at lockdown. Now my turn to reflect on those, bellow my answers.

  1. What have you missed the most during this lockdown?

Nothing new. I missed even more my family and siblings who live in a separate country than I due to the fact that two planned trips got cancelled during lockdown. That extended our usual face to face meetings. Otherwise nothing else considerable.

2. What is the best thing about being in a lockdown?

The best thing about lockdown has been for me the forced circumstance to slow down. I tend to overstimulate myself and keep myself busy. During lockdown everything went slower. I got put on temporal leave from my daily advertising job, so it freed some time to “chill”, be in the moment and reconnect.

3. What has been the worst thing about being in lockdown?

The first two weeks were extremely challenging. My husband and I struggled to manage both the home office, home schooling and the being. We were a bit shaken and stressed out. The weeks that followed went smoother. We managed to find a functioning routine in order to keep the balance and our sanity.

4. Who would you have liked to host in your home during the lockdown and why?

I would have loved to host Trevor Noah so that we could joke, laugh at the situation, be silly and have deep conversations about life.

5. What have you discovered about yourself in the lockdown?

That I enjoy my own company. It had already been a discovery for few months ago, but this lockdown confirmed it: I am becoming somehow introvert. Or maybe I have always been so but wasn’t in alignment enough to realise that…Time will tell :)

6. What did you eat (or drink) the most during the lockdown?

I made more pastries than usual. I enjoyed the activity of initiating my son to baking. And we naturally ate the pastries we had baked. My favourite snack often by side was/still is Smash: a sweet/salty/crispy corn chocolate snack (dangerous item, don’t try). I mostly drank water, tea and homemade smoothies.

7. Apart from sleeping and working, what activities did you undertake the most during the lockdown?

  • I wrote. This lockdown acted as a creativity and inspiration booster. I wrote more than I ever had before. This also thanks to Dr Mehmet Yildiz through the 30 days writing challenge, which was a true driver and motivation.
  • I played more with my son and created easy choreographies with him.
  • I read few books that were on the waiting list.
  • I walked, prayed and meditated daily.

8. Will you come out of lockdown heavier or lighter?

On the weight scale or in my innermost being? For the weight I will undoubtedly come out heavier but definitely lighter in my innermost being.

9. What resources have helped you the most during the lockdown?

Nature, the holy bible, family chats and Medium.

10. What is your top tip for other people in lockdown right now?

Enjoy the moment. Don’t try too hard to keep the before lockdown routines. Take it as it comes and be kind to yourself. These are special times, you don’t need to add additional constraints on your being.

11. How has lockdown changed you?

I am a bit more mature after this, less anxious and more focused. The lockdown contributed at some extend in my spiritual growth.

12. If you were to leave a ‘message in a bottle’ for the future, what would you say?

Remember this, remember how it contributed in making you the way you are now. Be grateful.

One last question, where are you?

Currently writing these lines in our living room: Oslo, Norway.
