5 Takeaways From The Current Situation

5 lessons I’m re/learning during this historical episode

I bet few years from now, this historical episode will be a far away souvenir for those who’ll survive it.

Meanwhile on my side I’m taking notes and learning from this. Because there’s always something to learn from a given situation/event/experience. That’s why we’re alive: to live, learn, grow, enjoy the maturity gained and die.

Otherwise how would we grow and thrive if no challenge at all? Life would be a bit boring and monotone don’t you think so?. Don’t mistaken me: I’m not saying that what’s happening is either good nor bad. I’m stating my own perspective on this.

I hear a lot of people saying: «I want to go back to how things were before», «I want to go back to normal». Well darling, there won’t be back to how things were before the pandemic, there will be a new version of the world as we knew it before the pandemic. Back to normal? Well there will be probably a new «normal» but not the same version as the «normal» before this episode.

Bellow 5 lessons I’m re/learning navigating through the current situation

#1: Health matters

Did you see how the world got shaken by the health threat to the human species? Almost everything got shut down. Nothing was functionning as usual. All businesses and organisations got directely impacted by this. Some businessese even went bankrupt. And which area was still functionning and central worldwide? => the healthcare sector. That’s when you realise the kind of role the healtcare sector plays in a society. I hope this will make many countries in the world see how this is primordial to any given society and how resources can be appropriately dedicated nationally and internationally into that area. I mean I gladly pay my taxes and get secured that my health is handled by qualitifed professionals without having to stress so much about it (I still stress though).

So health does matter, at the highest point: personally, locally, nationally and internationally.

Imagine: you get all your dreams come true, you are surrounded by your loved ones, you are content and fulfilled, but then your health is shitty. Well, all that gathered wellness and balance is disturbed right? That’s how one realises which high priority health has in one’s life.

As the saying goes:

Health is the new wealth — Feel Rich Movie

#2: Family matters

No family is perfect (and who cares about perfection in 2020 anyway? — at this point we all know it’s a myth), but family is still family. There’re the closest company God puts in our journey and they represent many sides of our own selves. In family I also include those close friends you consider as family.

During this pandemic: who are the persons you talked and exchanged the most with? Who did you check the most on? Who did you get worried about? Who was by your side or who did you want to be by your side?

Most likely there’re family members, children, partners, close friends.

We usually get busy and mindless about the little things that matter but at the end of the day those who matter have always been there. This episode is allowing us to open our eyes and see it brightly, hopefully after this we can internalise that reality. There’s no such thing as no man’s land. We all have a land: that’s our family — original or created.

#3: Priorities matter

If this was the last day of your life, would you spend it exactly the way you did? If yes you’re living in alignment. If not how else?

That’s a way to find out what truly matters to you and how you can give more importance to those things in life. That simple question allows you to get clearer into your own values and adjust your priorities in accordance. I wrote about priority in this article and how crucial they are in order to develop that sense of satisfaction at the end of the day, knowing that you followed through your values and sleep like a baby at the end of the day.

#4: Life is Short, life is Now

Nooo, is it? Yes. It is. Believe (or not) a genocide survivor. Life can turn upside down in a matter of seconds: most people have the proof now hopefully?. I already had my idea about that from before, so what happened was no big surprise nor chock. You don’t know what tomorrow holds, no one knows except the almighty God. What we have is the gift of the present moment. Some people have died due to this pandemic (or something else), and some were young, do you think they had any idea their life would be shortened so drastically? I bet not. So we gotta be aware of that reality and leave the unnecessary human drama behind.

#5: God, the Almighty is sovereign

You may believe in God/Allah/Buddha, law of the universe or any other higher power… or you may not. That’s a personal matter. But as I am concerned I am getting another tangible illustration that God is the one with the ultimate authentic power above all things.

Science is doing its best and some people are working real hard currently trying to find a cure to this but not much has been discovered so far: as Mark Manson says: “No one knows nothing about what is happening”. The world will eventually realise now that there’s a limit to science, there’s a limit to technology and there’s a limit to human intelligence. Our human’s illusion of control and power is set on the lights-spot. The world in parallelle will understand that the human value has a central role in all things: because without humans = nothing happens, nothing is created, nothing has meaning.

What about you dear reader, what is the current situation bringing you as insights into your life experience?

Until next time, I thank you for your time and wish you all the best you visualise for yourself and your loved ones.
