112,024 Views On Medium- Here’s How Much Money I Made

I do not want to brag. Only motivate.

Damn. That’s a big number.

What I have achieved in my first few months on Medium is truly incredible.

I started publishing my first articles on this platform at the end of January. My goal at that time was to earn a few hundred euros a month on the Internet. A side hustle next to my studies, so to speak.

The possibilities to earn money online are virtually unlimited nowadays. From Youtube to dropshipping, affiliate marketing, freelancing via platforms like Fiverr, blogging, and so on and so forth.

Since I’ve always loved writing and my teachers at school told me I had a talent for it, at least in my native language. So I gave Medium a shot. And I loved it.

At the beginning of my activity on Medium, I got highly motivated by such earnings reports from other writers. Therefore I would like to share my “success”, if you want to call it that, in the hope that I can motivate other newcomers in this way.

The Last 30 Days

In the last 30 days, I have achieved the following statistics:

What bothers me a bit about these numbers is the ratio of reads to views. Only everyone who clicks on my story reads so completely? Something I have to do better to change that.

However, I suspect that the counted reads can’t be completely trusted either. For example, I had a story that should have reached 50 views, 5 reads, and a reading time of one hour on the first day.

The average reading time should have been only 3 minutes. Somehow this calculation does not add up…

The Earnings

How much are these views worth?

Since the last few days span two different months, I can’t say for sure. In the first 23 days of June, I earned $3,563.11.

So on average, that’s about $155. Projected over 30 days that’s $4650.

So you could also say that for me 1000 views bring in around $24.

However, you can not generalize this figure, because a view is not a view. If you write rather long articles, your earnings for 1000 views will probably be higher, since the reading time is decisive.
