10 Signs Of Mentally Strong People

Mentally strong people live their lives according to their mannerisms they don’t care what others think, they do what they love and this is what makes their life peaceful. Perfection is just a misconception, making mistakes and learning from those mistakes and making sure not to repeat the same mistakes is what life is all about. Mental health is equally as important as physical health. Mental strength isn’t something you are born with — it’s a choice and an attitude. We all go through crap in life, but mentally strong people have a quality to learn from negative experiences.
Mental Strength is an ability that significantly influences one’s success. Success depends more on mental strength than intelligence. Having control of our emotions and determination can make us become a strong person who can accomplish almost anything we want to do.

1. They know how to say “No”
You are not here to please everyone but to please your own soul. It is not always necessary to agree with all the things, Sometimes you have to say No. Making choices that might upset others takes courage, but living an authentic life requires bravery. Mentally Strong people know very well that how and when to say ‘NO’.
2. Constructive Criticism
While you may seem firm and on track, you realize that you have a lot of areas you can work and improve on. Thus you appreciate when people give you feedback and tips. Similarly, when you see an area another colleague or friend needs to work on, you converse with them and give them constructive criticism, so that they too can improve just like you.
3. Self-Control
The most important element of a strong mind is Self Control. It’s your ability to set aside your immediate interests in favor of something more meaningful so whether you are avoiding fast-food to lose weight or saving money to buy a car, self-control makes those long-term goals possible.
Scientists explain Self-control as a hot and cool system. The Hot system is impulsive and passionate it acts on urges and seeks out short term rewards. While the Cool System is logical and cognitive, it thinks through problems and tries to figure out the best course of action. Your self-control depends on the dynamic between these two systems so if your hot system is stronger well self-control is probably difficult for you but if your cool system has the upper hand then you’re much better at resisting the temptation.
4. You Say Exactly What You Mean
Mentally strong people know that the words they choose to say, reflect back on them, so they say exactly what they mean. Putting real meaning behind your words is a powerful tool for achieving happiness. You seldom encounter problems where you find yourself tangled up in things you might have said because you are constantly aware of what you are saying.
5. You Find Solutions to Your Problems
Instead of complaining about something that went wrong, you try to figure out WHY it went wrong. This is how we move forward, and mentally strong people are all about progressive movement. You refuse to give your energy towards anything unproductive, and you thoroughly enjoy a good challenge.

6. Advanced Decision Making
Even the most insignificant choices can drain your willpower that’s why people with great self-control often plan their decisions ahead of time, for example, you might orchestrate your meals, clothing or budget the night before, not only are you saving yourself some time you are also doing your willpower a huge favor. If you are the kind of person that can’t resist mapping out your life chances are willpower is one of your strong suits.
7. You Know That It’s Okay To Be Wrong
Some people always have to be right, and hell will freeze over before they utter the words, “I’m sorry”. Mentally strong people, on the other hand, have no problem admitting when they are wrong. Apologizing for something isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s actually a sign of strength!.
8. You Enjoy Solitude
In a world linked together 24/7 by social media, you sometimes like taking time off. Spending time alone doesn’t mean that you are lonely. You simply want to spend time improving yourself. Perhaps reading a book or doing an activity you enjoy. This alone time is important for you to rewire and reflect on things happening in your life. You also take this time to build on your character and review priorities. Spending time alone can either make you mentally strong or make you worse but that depends on you that how you spend that alone time.
9. Perfection Control
Perfection and Willpower are natural enemies, in fact, perfectionism often stems from a basic lack of self-control. You overwork and you overthink because you can’t control that urge to keep tinkering. Most people don’t realize that work can be a trigger just like junk food or watching TV that’s why people who have overcome perfectionism tend to have strong willpower, they have learned when to keep working and when to take a step back. Someone who is mentally strong will never say that I am a genius and will always behave like an average and tries to improve and this is what makes them different from others.
10. You Don’t Care What Others Think
Mentally strong people are not people pleasers. You won’t go out of your way just to prove yourself to someone. While you treat those around you with respect and fairness, you are not afraid to speak up. You’re completely okay with some people going against your point of view, but you don’t let them dictate your actions.
