10 Powerful Quotes I Tell My Children About Relationships
A Mother’s view on love and self-love

I tell my children, “Use the best of me and lose the rest of me.”
I’ve spent more than a decade in the counseling, research, and writing of love and relationships. I want my children to have happy and healthy relationships. I want them to learn from the mistakes I’ve made.
It’s what we do as mothers. We teach our kids that when we fall down, we pick ourselves up, we learn, and we become better.
I used to believe my children would learn from perfection.
Until I realized it was an impossible goal for a mother to reach. I couldn’t make sure my children grew up perfectly but I could ensure they grew up beautifully.
Relationships aren’t precise. They are human. They won’t be perfect.
But some can be healthier than others.
As a mother, I want to impart a few concise and meaningful words that may improve my children’s chances of happier and healthier relationships. The type of wisdom that may easily be remembered.
Quotes have a way of sticking with us and following us. They can be hard to forget. They can guide us and our children.
