You’ve Brought Balance Into My Life
To the one who saved my soul
I was walking a tightrope Of long-dead emotions I felt I was drowning In dark, dismal oceans
I wasn’t quite sure What I needed most I looked to a bottle For an unloving toast
Then you brought balance into my life You sheltered a soul in tatters from strife I felt from the start A peace in my heart You brought balance into my life
I cried in my pillow In silence each night I had come to the end Of a long, lonely fight
I knew that I needed To find my way out A thing I’d avoided In believing my doubt
Then you brought balance into my life You sheltered a soul in tatters from strife I felt from the start A peace in my heart You brought balance into my life
I looked to the Heavens Laid it all on the line Got down on my knees And begged for a sign
I asked for another Lost, lonely, sad soul The love of a lifetime Who could make me feel whole
Then you brought balance into my life You sheltered a soul in tatters from strife I felt from the start A peace in my heart You brought balance into my life
You’ve given me reason You’ve given me hope You’ve helped me to heal You’ve taught me to cope
I feel that I’m finally A real part of the plan I know that I’m finally With a true, loving man
Yes, you’ve brought balance into my life I’m thankful that God let me be your wife I know in my heart We never shall part Yes, you’ve brought balance into my life
This piece is dedicated to the love of my life, Michael Graves.
Thank you again, Amy Marley. This writing challenge has been a great inspiration for me. For today’s piece, the word “balance” jumped off the page at me and said, “TYPE!!!”. This is what I came up with.
