The YouTube and Facebook end game.
Getting traffic, views, and reads to your Medium stories is the “end game” of this Facebook and YouTube content marketing strategy. A strategy I have used to build audiences with Facebook groups, pages, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Only this time, I made a few adjustments so that all traffic is redirected to Medium stories and publications through YouTube and Facebook. This is the fun part of content marketing strategies, the changes you make to test different “end game” results.
But there is a “magic button” involved, not like the one you wish for though. It will not turn your PC into an ATM. What it will do is turn your PC into a web traffic powerhouse!
To get to this “magic button” you will have to keep reading, but I can assure you it works like a charm. As illustrated with a screenshot below, using the same strategy previously to build Facebook audiences.
So, I figured if the strategy could create that kind of growth on Facebook groups, why not give it a try for Medium, right? Within 3 weeks this group had grown to 463 members at the time.

But here’s the real value. Because building an audience is one thing, building an active audience is quite another. Of the 463 new Facebook group members, 379 are active users!
In other words, almost 85% of the group members are actively responding to posts! And that is what an active audience is all about, it means that your audience is interested in your content!
Now, just as I have used this strategy to build Facebook group audiences. We will make a few adjustments and redirect those active audiences to Medium stories!
But we will not only be working with Facebook, but we are also adding YouTube to the mix. All you have to know is how to step in front of floods of visitors, no need to “look” for traffic!
Why Facebook and YouTube?
Well, “Facebook” and “YouTube” are the two most searched keywords on the internet and in search engines especially. So, admittedly I am also trying a content marketing strategy.
Targeting the two most competitive keywords on the planet! But Facebook and YouTube can also be a bottomless traffic pit if you know how to combine the two.
This particular strategy works well for traffic to any URL really, but we want to get more traffic to our Medium stories. And in doing so, get more traffic to our affiliate links.
Facebook and YouTube have billions of online searches per month, apart from being the two most searched keywords. But they also have staggering amounts of active daily users, which is important.
With this strategy, we will be using Facebook groups, pages, and one YouTube channel. So, you will need at least one of each of these that you own. Your group, page, and channel that you own.
But we will get to that, it is not all that complicated. It is however a rather time-consuming content marketing strategy. But with YouTube and Facebook in the mix, well worth the effort, I can assure you.
If you need free quality traffic to your Medium stories, then Facebook and YouTube are in my opinion the best place to do just that. Get a lot more traffic to any URL you wish, but we will just be focusing on Medium.
YouTube and Facebook marketing strategy.
In all honesty, I came up with this strategy for two reasons. I needed more traction on one of my YouTube channels, and more traction on Medium stories.
But as mentioned before, you will need your own Facebook Pages, Groups, and at least one YouTube channel. Now there is a way to create your own motivational YouTube channel, without ever making any videos!
These are the same YouTube videos I use with this strategy. Only the motivational videos all of which are redirecting to my Medium profile from the video description areas.
When you schedule Medium stories and YouTube videos with this tool it will gradually start growing. It is not “going to happen” within a few days! You can schedule your work months in advance, and use that advantage for consistency.
Creating the needed YouTube channel for this specific strategy is covered in much more detail in another Medium story. You might want to read the story below and see how you can do that without ever making a single video!
Adding the magic button as it were.
Adding this YouTube and Facebook “magic button” will require you to use one of the best tools I have ever come across. But you will have to experience it for yourself, which is why I have arranged for a 2-week free trial.
After that, it will be the best $15 you will spend each month, I can assure you! Automation is how you “make money while you sleep” because that might be the best time to reach your target audience.
The tool is called FP Traffic! (affiliate link) And you have 14 days to test it for FREE! Admittedly, a tool I have been neglecting a bit, but then came up with fresh ideas. Because I need more traction on Medium.
That is what I love doing most, finding solutions to my problems. Because in most cases, there are thousands of other people struggling with the same thing.
Next, I will take you through the basics of using this tool for the sole purpose of this specific content marketing strategy. But I leave it up to you to get to know your way around this tool.
It all starts with adding your Medium stories, and YouTube video URLs to FP Traffic. You can upload as many as 500 URLs per social profile, and you can connect unlimited profiles!
Adding profiles to FP Traffic is super easy, just follow the simple steps. You can schedule posts to the following social profiles when you use this outstanding software tool! Perfectly safe, I have been using it for quite a while. And created quite a few content marketing strategies with FP Traffic.
● Facebook Groups.
● Facebook Pages.
● Twitter Profiles.
● Pinterest Boards.
● LinkedIn Profile.
● Instagram Profile.
As illustrated below, inside FP Traffic, just go to “Add URLs”. Then choose the profile you want to add the URLs to, paste them in the window, and the tool does the rest.

While testing this YouTube and Facebook strategy, personally I am adding links to Medium stories, YouTube videos, and Quora answers. Because effectively, this strategy maintains social media consistency and targets the right audience at the right time.
In a bit, we will also check on the best times to schedule your posts (URLs) to several social profiles. Although I would advise keeping it manageable. You will not be able to manage 50 profiles.
I just use 2 to 5 of my social profiles. That way maintains quality along with consistency. Because every URL you share will require you to manually type in a description, tags, and hashtags.
That is the most time-consuming part. Don’t just share URLs, include the descriptions, tags, and hashtags. Not only is it more professional, but it can also result in a lot more attention.
But there are other ways to add content to this scheduler, I am just using the “Add URLs’ for this particular demonstration. You have 4 options to add content to FP Traffic.
● CSV File Upload.
● RSS Feeds.
● Add URLs.
● Upload Content.
● Find Content.
Yes, with this tool you can even find suggested posts from sites like Google, Bing, Pinterest, Reddit, and many more. But you can explore on your own time a little later. Once you have this strategy set up.

Above you can see the option to add all the necessary details for this Facebook and YouTube strategy. “Click here to add a description”, it says. Click on that to add a description, tags, and hashtags manually to each URL you share.
You will also notice that your Medium article featured image is used as the display image for your post. In the case of YouTube video URLs, the video Thumbnail serves the same purpose.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT share affiliate links this way. You are going to get yourself suspended, blocked, or even banned. You only share indexable URLs with featured images for more traction.
In this case, and for this content marketing strategy demonstration. We will only be sharing Medium story URLs, and YouTube video URLs.
Now that we have the description, tags, and hashtags done. It is time to set up a posting schedule. Where timing is everything. You want to reach the right audience with the right solution at the right time.
When scheduling posts for Facebook pages you own, you also have the option to add a “call to action” button. But that is only with Facebook pages. I have not seen the option for any other social profile.

The FP Traffic server time is 3 to 3½ hours ahead of the Pacific Standard Time, so be careful when setting the times to post to your social profiles. It is important (targeting a United States audience) to focus on Pacific Standard Time.
Don’t get confused by the time difference between where you are, and where your target audience is. Work with the FP Traffic server time, then from there calculate the best times to set up a posting schedule.
But please be moderate about this, it is not an opportunity to annoy every audience on earth! It is an opportunity to get more Medium traffic. As you can see below, I schedule 4 posts per social profile per day.
Posting to the right audience at the right time means 4 posts can sometimes be far more effective than 50 posts at the wrong time and to the wrong people!
Below you can see an illustrated example of the schedule setup. My posting times are calculated to reach a USA audience from 8 PM to 11 PM. I find them most active during these times.
Therefore, the post-scheduling times here are 10 PM, 11 PM, 12 AM, and 1 AM. Subtracting 3 odd hours, puts it spot on with the Standard Pacific Time which I am targeting.

You will also have the option to post at certain times each day. Or you can choose different times to post for every day of the week. There are a lot of options, get to know your way around this tool.
Bringing YouTube and Facebook together.
And there you have the basics of bringing YouTube and Facebook together for more Medium story reads, views, and engagement. Just be moderate and consistent.
You have seen the proof at the beginning of what this tool did for a single Facebook group within 3 weeks. I do not doubt that this strategy will do the same thing for Medium.
But as I have mentioned before, I have just come up with this one, so I too am still testing. But the social sharing posts are now consistent, moderate, and more importantly, targeted at the right time.
