You’re Still Broke Because You Treat Money Like Boogers
Why you’re still broke although you earn zillions.

My sister gave me an interesting riddle last night. It was:
“What object or thing that you sought after with much effort, but when you find it, you throw it away?”
I instantly answered money.
She was slightly impressed for a second and proceeded to tell me that the answer’s boogers.
That’s a way to ruin the moment.
That was also the end of the conversation, but the thought that many of us treat money the same way we treat boogers lingered.
When we start getting paid more than usual, we have more income to spend, which increases our spending power. It’s excellent news, but most of us use the power to buy more useless things, not useful or nurturing ones.
We become a little looser with our spending control, especially if we don’t pay attention to how much we’re actually spending.
You may impulsively buy clothes because they are on sale or splurge on drinks.
You worked so hard to earn money just to throw it all away like boogers. That’s the reason you find yourself asking, where did my money go? all the time.
I’ve seen someone who worked so hard to get promoted, only to still be broke after getting the promotion instead of being able to live more comfortably.
The first time I earned my own money as a teenager from a part-time job was only around $100/month.
It was almost half my monthly allowance provided by my parents to live pretty comfortably while I was studying abroad.
I was tempted to spend it all away, but I quickly put my money in my savings wallet.
The said wallet has one rule: once money comes in, there’s no taking it out save for emergencies. Actual emergencies.
I continued to spend the same amount of money before I had earnings. Surprisingly, following the rule wasn’t as hard when the money’s out of my sight.
You should be doing something similar if you wish to not be broke. But instead of a wallet, use a savings account or invest in something.
You don’t even have to know about stock markets or how to day trade to invest. There are many reliable apps that help beginners invest. You just have to find them.
Final Thoughts
To be broke or not to be broke? It is a question you need to ask yourself. My advice? Stop treating money like boogers.
Of course, you can spend more when you earn more, but spend smartly.
My ass, who knew nothing about money, can do it. So you can, too!
