You’re Not Your Thoughts

Verses for people living in their heads

Recently, I discerned how I’d associate myself with every bit of unease and insignificant episode in my life.

Feeling a bit low, I would think something is wrong with me.

Overworked, and I’d 10x the work by simply ruminating about it.

This habit has made life in my mind and question myself. It took me a great deal to remind myself that I am bigger than my feelings, I am bigger than my thoughts, and I am way bigger than my challenges.

I wrote these verses while trying to understand how good and special being I am. I hope these words remind you that and help you look at the bigger picture.

You are not your thoughts, you are not your feelings

you are not the emotions. you are not your illusions

your thoughts are fleeting, your existence is enriching

your feelings are flying, your mind is simulating

you are not your anxiety, you are not your fatigue

you are not your disease, you are not a machine

you are not your fears, you’re not here to lure

you are not your nightmares, you are not your dreams

you are constantly evolving, you are always radiating

you may be a bit of it all, for one second or maybe an hour you are a powerful soul, you belong to your heart
