Greeting fellow earth inhabitants. Good to see you. Welcome to another edition of Politics in the USA; WTF!

I’m your host, with hopefully all you need to get this show done another week. I’m always sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can handle it; we're all adults, right? I waffle on the adult part, personally.

Not just the happenings in our nation’s seat of power but also some headline-grabbing stuff that causes you heartburn, drains your wallet, or makes you question when We The People, will ever be at the top of the heap again.

For you new to this soiree, I do a compilation of headlines from around the US and add commentary to help you see it in a different light or just pat your back and say, “I’m sorry for your loss.”

Because I am truly sorry that my family, friends (you), and others still put up with some of the shit that the powers that be keep spoon-feeding us.

On that upbeat note, let’s throw some gas in this machine and get going. But one last thing before we scoot. This came my way this week. It’s too funny not to share. Thanks, Dion Groove. Go check him out, please.

A politician

Is on a mission

To fill their bank

Without condition

Like oinking piggies

With snouts in the bucket

Looking after themselves

Until we say f#ckit!

Quick reminder. John Pearce does a companion piece to this covering the UK called Dalliance With Democracy. Please check it out.

Twitter’s ‘X’ sign is taken down in San Francisco after neighbors filed 24 complaints — NPR

So, let me try and understand this. SF has turned into a cesspool of homelessness and unchecked street violence, with tour maps showing the location of human defecation. Now, a few, no doubt, privileged assholes are complaining about a sign on the top of a building. AYKM?

Biden spoke with son’s business associates numerous times; former partner tells lawmakers — NBC News

Rep. Daniel Goldman said Devon Archer told lawmakers that Hunter Biden put his father on speakerphone with business partners about 20 times, but they didn’t talk business. Dareh Gregorian | NBC NEWS

A former business partner of Hunter Biden testified that the president’s son used the Biden “brand” to his advantage while working for Ukrainian energy company Burisma, according to lawmakers who were present during Monday’s closed-door questioning.

Hunter Biden, the gift that keeps on giving. Hey Dad, you must be so proud. Oh, of course, you are; your son has ‘donated’ a shit load of money to you and yours over the years. Again, nothing to see here, folks; move it along. Yeah, right.

The Fall of a Trucking Giant: Why Yellow Is on the Verge of Collapse — The Wall Street Journal

Yellow, one of the oldest and biggest U.S. trucking businesses, is on the verge of collapse, wrecked by a string of mergers that left it saddled with debt and stalled by a standoff with the Teamsters Union.

The 99-year-old company is known for its cut-rate prices and has more than 12,000 trucks moving freight across the country for Walmart, Home Depot, and many other smaller businesses. What Yellow couldn’t deliver-despite swallowing rivals, getting union concessions, and securing a government bailout -was consistent service for customers or profits for investors.

From what I hear, 33K jobs will go poof. Now to be fair all around, Yellow had a business model that could not survive even over the long run. The profits will never be large enough to offset the increased labor costs from the proposed contract. Yes, the Teamsters Union had a big hand in killing this company. And you wonder again why union labor representation in the US is only about 12%.

Errors in disease diagnosis lead to nearly 800,000 deaths, disabilities in US each year: study — FOX News

Misdiagnoses in the U.S. lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths and major disabilities each year, according to a recent report from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Maryland.

Each year, an estimated 795,000 Americans become permanently disabled or die due to a misdiagnosis, the study found.

It was published in The BMJ, a peer-reviewed medical trade journal.

The top five misdiagnosed conditions were stroke, sepsis, pneumonia, venous thromboembolism (formation of a blood clot in a vein), and lung cancer — which together made up 38.7% of all cases.

The worldwide ranking for US Healthcare places it №21 Sept 27, 2022 USNEWS.Com

Despite having the most expensive health care, the US ranks last overall compared with six other industrialized countries — Australia, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and the UK. Commonwealthfund.org

The US healthcare system is a for-profit entity. The above shows you that sometimes having the most expensive doesn’t equate to quality. I’m sorry to repeat myself, but it’s only about the money, not the people.

Americans say this should be mandatory to be on the presidential ticket: ‘most crucial part of an election — FOX News

It’s no debate: Americans agreed that presidential candidates should have to square off onstage if they want to be included on the ballot.

“If you can’t stand up for what you believe in and have a debate with somebody — you’re out,” Nancy said.

I’ve watched many presidential candidate debates. I used what I saw them do on stage during the debate to determine if they were worth voting for. Guess who doesn’t want to debate for the next election?

Hawall Health Department trains future therapists to conceal conversations with LGBT youth from parents — FOX News

EXCLUSIVE: A presentation offered by employees of the Hawaii Department of Health encourages staff and graduate students at the University of Hawaii Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy not to document their conversations with LGBTQ+ youth in an effort to keep parents in the dark about their child’s sexual identity.

“Be careful about what you document — parents may be able to access the information,” the presentation noted under a slide about confidentiality.

Has the whole world gone mad? This is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve touched on this before. Health officials and school districts, keep your friggin mitts off the kids regarding gender identification. OMG!

Famed dog trainer Cesar Millan insists he can stop Biden’s dog Commander from biting staffers in two hours — Fox News

“Everybody is going to connect, communicate and have an amazing relationship with this amazing German shepherd, and we’re all going to forget about what he did, because it wasn’t his fault,” Millan added. “He was a puppy when he came in. He didn’t come with any issues. He didn’t say, ‘when I get older, I’m going to bite all the Secret Service.’ That was not his dream.’

Somebody tell Cesar that the only reason Commander is biting anyone is because he has seen his dog dad, Joe, do it. If the President is not snapping at reporters, he’s nibbling on the shoulder of a young child. If Finn, our German Shepherd, saw me doing it, ditto.

RFK Jr. fumes at Biden administration over Secret Service protection — POLITICO

After Democratic nominee Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968, Congress changed the law to authorize Secret Service protection for major candidates.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign slammed the Biden administration Friday alleging politics was behind the Democratic presidential candidate being denied Secret Service protection.

Folks, if you’re inclined, do your homework about how the US government has treated the Kennedy family, beginning with the assignation of RFK Jr.’s uncle. And then move on to his dad’s murder. What you will discover if you read enough is chilling. Yeah, our government.

Harvard Faces Federal Probe Into Donor and Legacy Admissions — The Wall Street Journal

The U.S. Department of Education has opened an investigation into Harvard University’s use of donor and legacy admissions preferences, a month after the Supreme Court ruled the school’s use of race-conscious preferences unconstitutional.

The Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights confirmed on Tuesday that it launched the investigation this week in response to a separate complaint filed last month on behalf of three Massachusetts-based organizations serving communities of color. The complaint alleges that Harvard College violates Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by giving preference to undergraduate applicants whose relatives are university alumni or donors.

What do you know, money again? Harvard is not alone in this practice, folks. Remember a few years ago, the scandal in California about wealthy parents buying access to sports programs? Similar deal; money greases the wheels.

Joe Rogan: When did society forget that kids ‘should not make life-changing choices’ like gender surgery? — Fox News

Podcaster Joe Rogan and Canadian professor Gad Saad spoke about how transgender ideology has radically changed society and medical practice in a matter of years, especially when children are involved.

Many commentators have marveled in recent years at how the American medical establishment is far less hesitant to recommend gender-altering medical procedures that are entirely irreversible, a fact Saad noted on Wednesday’s episode of the Joe Rogan Experience.

While both hosts noted they don’t disagree with transgenderism themselves, they marveled at how society as a whole is forced to agree with it.

“I think both you and I are very socially liberal. I don’t care one way or the other about what transgender people do,” Saad noted to Rogan. “That doesn’t mean that I have to accept the fact that a guy with a penis can call themselves a girl, and I have to just say ‘Amen.’

Amen.

Cigna accused of using an algorithm to reject patients’ health claims — CBS News

Cigna is using an algorithm to review — and often reject — hundreds of thousands of patient health insurance claims, a new lawsuit claims, with doctors rubber-stamping those denials without individually reviewing each case.

And the hits to your healthcare just keep on coming. I’m sorry for your loss; I truly am. This is despicable.

Terms ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ could be canceled under new proposal: ‘It’s bulls — -’ says one lawmaker — Fox News

Democrats are “not fighting for better jobs, they’re not fighting for a secure border… they’re fighting for a woke agenda to satisfy an extreme left wing contingency that’s taking over the Democrat Party here in Washington,” he said. “It’s just another joke in the far-left overreach of government.”

Doesn’t it comfort you to know that every day Congress is hard at work doing important business? Pronouns obviously demand everyone’s full attention — the hell with getting any real work done.

Alito says Congress has no authority to police Supreme Court ethics — The Washington Post

Hmm! I would think that SCOTUS justices are familiar with civics. Justice Alito, that statement may come back to bite you.

“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you.” Pericles

How about “peopleism?” Because the current system in the US is not working.

I’d vote for “peopleism”, R C:)

Denis Gorbunov and I had this discussion recently. Maybe we are on to something, fellow citizens?

That’s going to do it for another edition, amigos. I appreciate you being here.

Please partition all of what I threw at you today. Yeah, it’s heavy and frustrating, and most of it will piss you off. But until the whole system gets scrapped and a more “Peopleism” system comes to be, we will have to deal with what we have.

Yes, me too; I may be in Spain, but I still have US business to deal with. Fortunately, my health is not one of them. Take care. I love you all.

Thanks for reading.
